2022 got off to a fiery start as Parliament went up in flames. A suspect was arrested and charged with “terrorism.” Conspiracy theories abound as a result of the bizarre circumstances surrounding the fire.

2022 may turn out to be the year of accountability and judgement for the ANC. The first of a three part “State Capture” Report was handed to President Cyril Ramaphosa by acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo on 4 January. The remaining two parts will be delivered by June.

Former president, Jacob Zuma and several high ranking ANC officials were heavily implicated in corruption, fraud, money laundering etc. Zondo singled out the ANC for facilitating the massive corruption that brought South Africa to the brink of economic collapse.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) – mandated by the Constitution to investigate and prosecute criminals – has failed dismally. Zondo severely criticised the NPA in his Report. Thankfully, the NPA created a “Task Force” to specifically address State Capture allegations.

The RET faction in the ANC appear to be lashing out in desperation. The fire at Parliament, the acts of sabotage at Eskom, the attacks on the Constitutional Court and of course the devastating riots in July 2021 are all calculated to undermine Ramaphosa’s administration.

However, many of the RET faction kingpins will face criminal trials this year. The evidence against them appear to be overwhelming. I pray the country will see the first significant convictions of senior ANC officials in 2022 that will signal a new chapter for the nation.

Family Policy Institute

Family Policy Institute faces formidable challenges this year. We are ready for the battle for faith, family and religious freedoms in 2022. FPI’s efforts to expose the dangers of “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) and provide children with safe and healthy alternatives like “Smart Choices” continues with increased vigour, passion and conviction.

We will also oppose governments legislative proposals that will outlaw home schooling.

FPI will ramp up efforts this year to defeat the agenda to redefine the God-given institution of marriage in the “Single Marriage Statute.” In addition, government attempts to erode and undermine religious freedoms will be vigorously opposed through our work across the nation.

FPI is a member of the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation (CESE Africa). Please help us end the sexual objectification of women in pornography by signing this joint letter to the UN agency, UNICEF and the joint letter addressed specifically to the African Union (AU).

We covet your prayers and partnership in this vital ministry. The successful and sustained battle to defend the natural family and advance Biblical values in Parliament, the media and general society depends on your and my partnership in this critical work in SA.

A growing number of medical professionals believe the world will gradually return to normal this year as a result of the more infectous but much less deadly Covid-19 Omicron variant. As a result, FPI’s work at Parliament and the United Nations (UN) will increase considerably.

We will experience breakthrough in many areas in 2022 if we continue to trust God in faith, hope, prayer and meaningful action. Resist fear and anxiety – trust God in everything in 2022.
