1) She graduated at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has some seriously impressive qualifications to her name.
She became a MEDICAL DOCTOR, by gaining her MBChB
(Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery).
2) Then she graduated from Harvard!
She completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal Child Health and Aging at the Harvard School of Public Health!
3) Success in her family!
She has a well-connected business network and the Motsepe family are surrounded by success. Mrs Ramaphosa is the older sister of South Africa’s first black billionaire, Patrice Motsepe.
Her sister Bridgette Radebe is married to Minister Jeff Radebe.
4) She plays a key role in our children’s education.
SA’s First Lady has been involved with a number of non-profit organisations, many of which aim to help our young kids in their studies.
These organisations include:
- African Self Help Trust (ASHA) – Current chairperson
- South African Civil Society for Women’s, Adolescents and Children’s Health (SACSoWACH) – Patron
- Students Sponsorship Program (SSP) – Former board member
5) Tshepo is not one for the spotlight!
She’s a very private and secretive person… and that’s about it, really.
Despite her new role, Tshepo Motsepe will be able to seek refuge from media attention in her house in Fresnaye.
6) Mrs Ramaphosa has the capacity for FORGIVENESS that has kept her family together!!
They have three children. Sons Andile and Tumelo Ramaphosa have stayed away from public attention. But even less is known about their daughter. It seems like privacy is paramount – and achievable – even in a climate like this.
