The controversial “Basic Education Laws Amendment” (BELA) Bill remains in the news as a result of the draconian measures introduced to provide the Department of Basic Education (DBE) ultimate control of children’s educational choices in the public and home schooling systems.

The National Council Of Provinces (NCOP) Select Committee on Education and Technology, Sports, Arts and Culture has extended the deadline for stakeholders and interested individuals to submit written comments on the “Basic Education Laws Amendment” (BELA) Bill to 31 Jan 2024.

All correspondence must be addressed to Mr Elleck Ntshabeleng, Chairperson: Select Committee on Education and Technology, Sports, Arts and Culture, for attention Ms Noluthando Skaka nskaka@parliament.gov.za Kindly provide the name, surname, telephone number, and email address of the person or organisation submitting comments to ensure integrity of the process.

A summary of the proposed amendments to the “South African Schools Act of 1996” is available Here.  Essentially, what the ANC regime intends with the BELA Bill is to grant greater powers to the Minister of Basic Education and senior DBE officials to override the authority of School Governing Bodies (SGB’s) and parents to determine the education choices of its own children.

Inspired by its close allies, the totalitarian Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the ANC regime is extending state control of education to intentionally indoctrinate future generations with its destructive Marxist ideology. Tragically, education has become the new ideological battlefield.

Alarmingly, however, the state’s ideological agenda is not limited to the public schooling system only. The BELA Bill grants the Minister and DBE officials extraordinary powers to regulate and therefore ultimately control the curriculum and values choices of home schoolers as well.

“Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) and “Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity” (SOGI) policies are currently not compulsory. However, the BELA Bill will change that. The Minister will be granted powers to override the authority of SGB’s to mandate CSE and SOGI in every school.

The Minister of Basic Education will also possess the authority to mandate CSE & SOGI in home schooling environments. UNESCO’s wicked goals is to target children with abortion and LGBTQ propaganda both in and out of the schooling system.  The DBE implements UNESCO policies.

Home schooling families are bringing education back into the home. Historically, the household has been the basis for the formation of all other social institutions – school, Church, business etc. The ANC regime is dismantling family government, undermining the very foundations of society.

The ANC government signed the EU-ACP Treaty – an agreement in which African, Caribbean and Pacific countries are culturally colonised by the European Union (EU) to create a dominant voting bloc at the United Nations so it can advance its pro-abortion and LGBTQ agenda globally. The EU-ACP Treaty incentivise African nations to make abortion, CSE and SOGI mandatory in education.

The BELA Bill will fundamentally transform education in South Africa. Like the proposed National Health Insurance (NHI) scheme will destroy private health care in SA – it will strangle the excellence private education provides and significantly expand the corrosive corruption, maladministration and gross incompetence of the failed ANC regime in every level of education.

The BELA Bill proposes parents be jailed for up to 12 months if their children are truant or if they are not enrolled when they reach school age. This will impact home-schoolers severely. It also grants the DBE ultimate authority to determine admission and language policies in schools.

Essentially, the BELA Bill is a power grab. It grants the state ultimate control of education similar to totalitarian countries like China and Cuba – close ideological allies of the failed ANC regime.

You can easily comment on the BELA Bill by 31 January 2024 via the dearsouthafrica site as well.
