President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the 2024 “State of the Nation Address” at a joint sitting of Parliament on 8 February. Being an election year, corruption weary citizens can expect more empty promises including Ramaphosa’s delusional assessment of the ANC regime’s “governing successes” over the past five years.
The true state of the nation – under the staggering misgovernance, rampant corruption and gross incompetent of the ANC regime – will no doubt be whitewashed. Ramaphosa’s task is to present an illusion of South Africa that is completely detached from reality – in the desperate hope of clinging to power.
The most recent national poll indicates a dramatic decline in electoral support for the ANC. The governing party is projected to lose most major provinces. Ramaphosa’s claims of “international conspiracies to unseat the ANC” is expected to be its primary electioneering message – it has nothing to offer voters other than worn-out “revolutionary” slogans. It cannot campaign on promises kept over the past 5 years.
The reality facing South Africa is clear. The country will not survive another five years of ANC misgovernance. The governing party’s allegiance to brutal totalitarian regimes and its disastrous foreign policy that has alienated it from the world’s major economies – strongly suggests South Africa is moving in altogether the wrong direction. Incredibly, however, for the ANC, Ideology always trumps common sense.
The Christian Church must call the nation to prayer. We face some of the greatest survival challenges since 1994. Without political change, South Africa’s outlook is bleak. Greed and materialism have transformed the ANC into an organized crime network that feeds off the labours of honest citizens. The party exists primarily to enrich its inept cadres by looting state coffers – to the detriment of an entire nation.
Prior to the first democratic elections in 1994, Church leaders called the nation to prayer. South Africa faced the very real danger of civil war. Christians from all walks of life gathered in unity to intercede for the nation. God heard our prayers and intervened. 27 April 1994 was peaceful. We need divine intervention in 2024.
The “International Monetary Fund” (IMF) slashed South Africa’s GDP growth outlook for 2024 as a result of rolling power outages, the collapse of Transnet’s rail and ports network and soaring debt. The IMF predicts further decline in South Africa’s economy which translates into more job losses. The ANC regime is directly responsible for the destruction of the country’s once world-class infrastructure.
Corruption, theft, fraud, money-laundering and racketeering remain rampant under ANC misgovernance despite Ramaphosa’s false promise of a “New Dawn.” ANC deputy president, Paul Mashatile like his predecessor, David Mabuza is implicated in massive corruption – which reveals an ANC unmoved by its people’s suffering.
The ANC regime’s goal of enriching its corrupt and inept cadres appears to be its only real success. Government employees in South Africa are the best paid in the world. A report indicates more than 55,000 state employees earn more than million rand annually. This in a country where more than 50 percent of the population are completely dependent on state welfare grants – which Ramaphosa brags about.
Ramaphosa promised he would sign the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill into law prior to the elections (as an obvious electioneering ploy). However, Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) warns the NHI Bill in its current form is a disaster. Most analyst agree, the NHI managed by corrupt and incompetent public officials will effectively destroy private health care in SA and trigger a mass exodus of health professionals.
Similarly, the “Basic Education Laws Amendment” (BELA) Bill will destroy private education and the “General Intelligence Laws Amendment Bill” that grants the state powers to spy on Church and NGO leaders and persecute citizens they label, “enemies of the state” – will effectively destroy civil and religious freedoms.
The ANC regime is clearly moving towards a more totalitarian form of governance as it loses its grip on power. Ramaphosa professed his admiration for the Chinese Communist Party recently and even urged South African citizens to emulate its Chinese counterparts and stop “bad mouthing the country”. What he failed to mention is that Chinese citizens are ostracised or jailed for criticising the state.
South Africa must rid itself of the destructive cancer of the ANC. It will not stop looting state coffers now that its cadres have a taste of the high life – courtesy of the SA taxpayer. The Christian Church must arise from its slumber and lead the nation in spiritual and moral awakening to avert disaster. Bold, decisive leadership is needed.
I depart for New York on 7 February where I will represent (South) Africa at a major event at the UN. I will speak on the “Significance of the Family to Poverty Eradication in Africa.” Member-states will be present and will hear a Biblical view of the family – which is rare at the UN. Please commit to pray for me as I venture into the lion’s den.

Finally truth. Thank you Errol Naidoo.
Hello Mr. Errol Naidoo. Straight off the shoulder, is it possible to start a Referendum, or something, to get rid of this Government, even before the elections? I am not certain how these things work, but I fear that if we wait for elections, with so much corruption around us, they will win again by a vast majority, and we will be stuck with them for another round of financial losses and changes to our lifestyle.
