I am so glad that you are giving us this opportunity to show our appreciation for our pastors! I would like to thank the Lord for pastor Mike Rumble, the man who led our whole family to the Lord 42 years ago. I was a 13-year-old teenager at the time, and this man’s love for Jesus and his fellow human being is what drew me to the Lord.
A true shepherd
Pastor Mike is a true shepherd at heart and showed up at our house constantly to shower us with God’s love and to answer all our eager questions about the Bible and God. My parents were so hungry for information about the Holy Spirit that many a night they kept pastor Mike up until the early hours of the morning with their questions.
Leading me to Christ
I vividly remember one Saturday morning when he arrived at our home with an ice cream machine under his arm. We spent the morning fellowshipping and talking about Jesus while he made us delicious ice cream. It was his friendship and the ability to make us feel so loved and cherished that made it easy for me to surrender my life to Jesus wholeheartedly. I fell in love with Jesus because of His acceptance and kindness I experienced through pastor Mike.
Bless his heart
Although pastor Mike has been living back in the America for the past 30 years, he still keeps in touch and comes to visit his “skapies”, as he calls us affectionately. He knows where each of his previous “flock” are in South Africa, and how they are. I thank the Lord for a gentle, sincere shepherd like this who introduced me to my loving heavenly Father.
