Are Puberty Blocking Drugs Really Safe On Kids?

Radical Gender Activists claim you can change gender by giving kids puberty blocking drugs – and say it is reversible. But trying to change gender is not like flipping a light switch. What they don’t tell you is that:

1. Hormone blocking drugs are designed to treat cancer and rare medical conditions. The doctor must weigh up the cost/benefit. They are justified for people with cancer because if they don’t take them then the cancer will kill you. They are not justified for normal healthy kids.

2. If a drug was developed for cancer and you take it ‘off label’ for trying to ‘change gender’ then if they hurt your kid you can’t sue the manufacturer – who never approved them for ‘gender transition’.

3. If a kid stops taking hormone blockers, they won’t just instantly flip back to developing normally as the other gender. It can take up to a year for hormone levels to get back to normal.

4. Hormone blockers can have serious side effects for example, reducing bone density and fertility.

5. If someone’s puberty is interrupted halfway by hormone blockers, they still have permanent change to their body. For example a male will still have male muscle developed due testosterone even if testosterone is later blocked that can give them an advantage in sport over a biological female.

6. The main cure of gender dysphoria (confusion) in kids is puberty.

For example if you have a six year old girl who is gender confused. When she reaches nine or ten, then suddenly female hormones from puberty kick in and clear up the confusion. So by blocking puberty hormones you stop them getting the one thing that would solve their problem and lock them into confusion the rest of their life – and more likely they will go through with other damaging effects like mutilation of the reproductive organs – which is irreversible.

7. The experiment of giving children puberty blockers is new – we don’t know all the impacts – it will take time for all the data to come in. And maybe those who are promoting it now will face some costly lawsuits.

8. If the purpose is to postpone puberty till the child is an adult and can then decide their gender for themselves through for example surgery (if that were possible), then the blockers will be needed from around age 9 to 18 (up to 10 years). During that time, you totally destroy that child’s normal teenage physical and psychological development with their peers. That is also a long time for the drugs to impact their body. This is a much longer period than for example the prescription of puberty blockers say for a year or two to postpone premature onset puberty (the medical merits of which itself is debatable). And if the intention is not to wait till the child is 18 before giving permanent impact opposite gender drugs and surgery – then this is permanent mutilation of a child before the age of consent. Either way the gender radicals have to admit, they are irreversibly changing a child’s psychology and physical body.
