One of the world’s most popular and famous worship movements, Bethel Music is coming to South Africa in March 2023.

Hardus Zevenster, Chief Executive Officer of Radio Tygerberg 104FM says, more than ever there is a need to gather and worship together.  This resulted in the decision for Radio Tygerberg 104FM, GROOTfm 90.5 and Die GROOT Ontbyt (on kykNET, weekdays 06:00-08:00) to bring Bethel Music to South Africa.

We will be doing things different this time round by taking this event outdoors, resulting in the biggest open-air praise and worship concert post COVID-19 pandemic. The concerts will take place at Meerendal Wine Estate in Cape Town and Loftus Versfeld rugbystadium in Pretoria.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people dealt with trauma by drawing inspiration from songs like No Longer Slaves, It is Well, Goodness of God and Raise a Hallelujah. Zevenster further states that Radio Tygerberg 104FM conducted thorough research to determine what music the listeners want to hear and promised that it will be familiar enough for a sing along opportunity. “Bring your chair, family and friends and get ready to worship God under the canopy of the heavenly stars”, says Zevenster.

Bethel Music is an American music label and worship movement from Redding, California, originating out of Bethel Church where they started making music in 2001. Bethel Music has grown from being a local church music ministry to a global outreach made up of a collective of songwriters, artists and musicians which can be accessed on popular platforms like iTunes and Spotify.   Bethel Music is annually nominated for several categories at the Dove Music Awards as well as the Billboard Music Awards. In 2015 they walked away with best worship song of the year, No Longer Slaves. Some of the latest hits include Goodness of God, Stand in Your Love and Peace.
