Through the eyewitness testimonies we find in the Bible – written by people who lived and travelled with Jesus – we see exactly who Jesus is. Not who He was – but who He is! He hasn’t changed at all. His interaction with us is just the same as it was in Bible days.
He is the same Jesus who wept when Lazarus died, then brought him back to life. He is the same Jesus who made haste to go with Jairus when his daughter lay dying. He is the same Jesus who sought out the woman who touched the hem of His garment, desperate to be free of her affliction. He didn’t care that she was “unclean”. He is the same Jesus who put mud on a blind man’s eyes, despite it being the Sabbath.

Over and over again, we’re told that Jesus was moved by the suffering He saw everywhere. But He didn’t just feel for them. He did something about it – every time! “When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.” – Matthew 14:14
The Gospel of Power
This is why we preach the “Gospel of Power” – good news that is confirmed by the power of God in miracles of healing, deliverance, and transformation. Because Jesus is still the same! His power has not faded with the centuries. His compassion for us has not changed.
The only thing that has changed since His ministry on earth is that we are now partners with Him. We are the ones called to pray for others in Jesus’ Name. It’s His power in our hands, and who are we to hold back in the face of His promises?

Shot in the face
Eight years ago, William was a soldier in the war between Sudan and South Sudan. One day, a bullet ripped into his face, and suddenly, he was functionally blind in both eyes. The only way he could recognise people was when they got close and called his name. Reading and writing were out of the question.
Searching for help, he made the long journey to Khartoum. There, doctors gave him some injections and told him to go earn some money and come back for more treatment. But without sight, it was impossible for him to work. Any hope of medical treatment faded, and it seemed like this dependent and lonely life was all that lay ahead for him.
‘Only Jesus can help me now’
And yet, William did not lose hope. He realised there was only one solution for him – Jesus. So, when he heard about the CfaN Partnership Campaign happening with Evangelist Randy Roberts in Juba, South Sudan, he knew he had to get there. He reached out to a friend for help, and the next night, he made it to the campaign field.
He was so tired by the time they got there, he sat right down on the ground. The bright lights that helped the rest of the crowd see did the opposite for him. For William, it was all just a bright white haze, and it made his eyes water. He needed to rest a little.

God will confirm His Word
But then these words rang out from the stage, as Evangelist Roberts prepared the crowd to pray for the sick…
“Tonight, God is going to confirm His Word on this field, with signs and wonders and miracles. There are some of you, you came and could not see. Someone had to lead you to the field – but you’re going to go home like this,” he said, striding across the stage, looking up to the sky.
Suddenly, William was wide awake. Randy continued:
“If you need healing in your body, I want you to hold your arms out. I’m going to pray and you’re going to be healed, in Jesus’ Name. Pain and inflammation, I rebuke you in Jesus’ Name. Cancer, I rebuke you in Jesus’ Name. Blind eyes, be opened in Jesus’ Name!”
William opened his eyes. At first, all he saw was that same white haze. And then, slowly, everything started to come into focus. Colours appeared. The white haze was gone, and he could see everything clearly.

Testifying God’s miracle
A nearby usher realised what was happening and led William to the stage to testify. “What was wrong with you when you came to the field tonight?” asked Randy. As William said, “I was blind for seven years,” the crowd roared with joy. “I can see clearly now!” he exclaimed. Randy ran to the other side of the stage as far away from William as possible, and held up his hand. “William, how many fingers am I holding up?” “Five! Now two! Now only one!”
Praising God for what had happened
As the crowd shouted the Name of Jesus, William prostrated himself on the stage, arms outstretched, praising God. The next day, our media team spoke to him personally at his home, and these were his parting words: “I am so excited and delighted because of what the Lord has done in my life. And I know that He loves me. Really! He came and He died for me and now I can see again. I am so grateful for that. I will keep on trusting Him and I’ve given my life all to Jesus. Jesus can do what no man can do.” This is our Jesus! The same yesterday, today and forever – and His love for us is indescribable.
