Governor of Borno state in Nigeria, Babagana Umara Zulum, has reportedly criticized the Nigerian federal government for its unwillingness to listen or hear the truth about the severe implications and outcomes of Boko Haram activity. Zulum reportedly said that the terrorist organization is responsible for the creation 59,311 orphans and 59,123 widows in their violent rampages.

The government has faced intense international criticism following the executions of several Christians who pleaded for assistance, but received none. Several videos were released of different prisoner groups, showing all of them requesting the government to step in and mitigate the issue. In the end, all were killed for their faith. Most recently, Lawan Andimi was killed, who was formerly a local CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) chairman.

Following Zulum’s report and the deaths of Christians at the hands of Boko Haram, Nigerian Christians organized a prayer walk this past Sunday. They called for security and protection in conjunction with CAN.
