Good day, precious friends. We celebrate two momentous events in the month of May. One is Christ’s ascension to heaven and the other is Pentecost.
The ascension
Christ’s ascension gives us hope because Christ has gone to heaven to prepare our eternal home (John 14:1-3), He is our advocate in heaven (1 John 2:1) and He is interceding before the Father on our behalf (Rom 8:34).
The power of Pentecost
The day of Pentecost is the day Holy Spirit came to earth to empower us to accomplish the Great Commission. Jesus put it this way in Acts 1:8 (AMPC), “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.”
Jesus is taking care of us
There is no need to worry, God has everything covered. Jesus is taking care of our eternal home in heaven while we conduct His business on earth through the power of Holy Spirit. “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs” (Mark 16:20). Amen.
