Wetumpka, Alabama reports a very interesting refusal: First Baptist Church refuses a $25,000 donation from a casino after the church suffered damage from a tornado, they say they don’t support gambling and can’t accept this donation as seen on Relevant Magazine.
The senior pastor of First Baptist, James Troglen, shares that he and the congregation were very moved and touched by the generous offer, but the decision was based on the can not as a church support gambling. It’s the church’s hope that the casino will redirect the money toward others affected by the tornado.
The casino also made donations to other different churches and local police departments, due to the twister, which moved through the northern Montgomery area on January 19.
