Almost thirty years of ANC misgovernance has transformed public education into a hellish environment of confusion, doubt and despair. The Department of Basic Education (DBE) appears obsessed with everything but education excellence – the consequences of which are devastating.

Suicides by school children have reportedly increased alarmingly in South Africa.  Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane has announced a plan to address pupil suicides after more than 40 suicides were reported in the province’s schools since the beginning of 2023.

Add to this tragedy the skyrocketing teen pregnancy crisis in SA’s public schooling system which includes more than 14,000 pregnancies in the 10 – 14 year age group. And when you factor in plummeting educational standards, SA public education has become portals to the gates of hell.

It is therefore incomprehensible that the ANC regime would advance the “Basic Education Laws Amendment” (BELA Bill) to grant its corrupt and incompetent cadres (education officials) more power and authority to further destroy what’s left of South Africa’s failing education system.

Pro-family activist and founder of “Invincible Family Substack,” Kimberley Ells writes, “Centuries before kindergartners and preschoolers were subjected to sexual debauchery and high schoolers were instructed to take pride in sexual deviance – priest and revolutionary Martin Luther foresaw the end of the road for schools in which basic belief in God was divorced from education.”

In 1537 he wrote, “I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place their child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt.”

And that’s exactly what has happened to education in South Africa. The belief in a transcendent Creator God and obedience to His word as revealed in the Holy Bible was replaced by a bankrupt ideology that produces only confusion, despair and misery – and that ultimately leads to death.

The results of decades of godless Marxist ideology, plummeting educational standards and forced abortion and LGBTQ indoctrination on innocent children is now tragically apparent. But what are the origins of the ANC regime’s vision for “transformative” and “inclusive” education?

Family Policy Institute

In September 2022, the United Nations hosted the “Transforming Education Summit” in New York, seeking to establish a “transformative” global education agenda and framework for every UN member state. The summit spoke for all UN agencies, each in accordance with a mutual agenda enforced through their specific means and channels.  (UNESCO directs education policy in SA).

“The summit was a concretization of these efforts, proposing a reinvention of the purpose of education and aiming to establish curriculum guides with a primary focus on culturally engineering social justice, climate activism, and sexual ideology through “social and emotional learning,” beginning with the most malleable population—children.”

The UN’s global education agenda is therefore the key driver of the DBE’s vision for education in South Africa. “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE), “Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity” (SOGI) and radical gender ideology are all central tenets of these hellish objectives.

That’s why Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga guarantees disciplinary action against teachers who refuse to teach CSE – which is currently not compulsory. The BELA Bill will grant Motshekga and DBE officials ultimate authority to enforce the UN education agenda in South African schools. But not only public schools – home and private schooling are also in their sights.

Kimberley Ells continues, “I stumbled across Harvard’s mission statement issued in the year 1642: “Everyone shall consider as the main end of his life and studies, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life.” This of course is based on a scripture from the gospel of John: “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Harvard’s original purpose—grounded in scripture—was to help students know God and thereby obtain eternal life.”  Harvard University is now a temple of secular humanism.

“And of course, it’s not just Harvard that’s changed. It’s essentially every public university and public school – everywhere. God has been escorted out the door in the name of “separating church and state.” And therefore, the rising generation is growing up with the prime purpose of education – and the prime purpose of life – omitted from the whole of their educational experience from age five upwards.” (When God is removed, the State becomes God).

The Scriptures declare, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction” Proverbs 1:7. South African education is being destroyed by an ideology that can only produce confusion, despair and death. School children are the innocent victims of a corrupt and destructive system that venerates a bankrupt ideology instead of the one true God.

Parents, educators and the Church are left with two choices. Abandon public education entirely or fight to rescue it from the gates of hell. Public education was once the domain of the Church. Evil flourished in its absence. We must therefore reclaim education for the glory of God.
