Interview with: Suzanne Thomson, Sea & Shore Resin Jewellery
In a joint collaboration, Sea Shore & Just a Mamma have created a beautiful Faith jewellery range – each item with its own little mustard seed inside.
Each piece is carefully handcrafted by 3 local artisans – 2 making the beautiful, delicate sterling silver frames and then we pour in the resin that encases a small mustard seed.

How The Concept Was Birthed
The concept was birthed after much discussion and bouncing ideas back and forth with Mari-Louise from @justamamma. We originally approached her as we felt a deep connection with her and her journey with the loss of pregnancies. Angela, the founder and creative genius behind Sea & Shore lost a full-term child and deeply felt the need to create a way for mothers and families to memorialise and have a physical reminder for their Angel Babies.
After much thought and discussion with Mari-Louise we realised there was an even greater need in these trying times for all women of faith, all women that have suffered and all women that carry hope in their hearts. And so, the Faith Range was birthed.

A Bit Of Background On The Partners
The partners are and Mari-Louise from Just A Mamma is a well-known Mommy-Blogger who is hilarious, beautifully real and relatable, and always has the best parenting tips. Along with Mari-Louise we birthed the concept for the Faith Range. Here is what she says about herself:
“Challenges are inevitable and even with so much negativity in the world, I am determined to make the most out of this motherhood journey. Filling our lives with God, love, adventure, fun and the odd Mojito or two. I share the ups, downs, highs, lows and pyjama drill moments as well as some awesome tips, finds and things I am learning as we go along.”
Sea & Shore Resin Jewellery and Art was created in 2018 by artist and nature enthusiast Angela Doig who had a dream to share her love for nature (especially South Africa’s Fynbos and ocean treasures) with others through preserving it in resin.
This passion then grew into new ranges that held deep sentimental value for Angela and our clients including our Memorial Remembrance Range where we preserve ashes into jewellery to become family heirlooms, our Pet Remembrance range which encapsulates horsehair, ashes, bird feathers etc. And now the range that is very close to our hearts, The Faith Range.
For the Faith Range we had stunning packaging designed by Marike from Paper Planery @paperplanery and printed on plantable paper which flowers by Growing Paper @growingpaperza with this scripture printed on:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” – Matthew 13:31-32
The sterling silver frames were designed and handcrafted by local South African Jeweller Vincent Lourens from Hombisa Jewellery @hombisa_jewellery
