Arlene and I depart for Los Angeles (LA) in the US on 12 April. Our vital work defending faith, family and freedom in South Africa will continue uninterrupted for the next three months from our base-of-operations in LA . The FPI team will continue with linked operations in South Africa.

Our three-month working trip to the US is scheduled to achieve several objectives. My son, Jared and his wife, Missy are expecting their first child on 21 April. Jared is currently studying for a ‘Masters in Divinity’ degree at the Masters Seminary in LA. Arlene and I will provide family support with the arrival of our fourth grandchild and also catch-up with overdue work in the US.

Since the Covid-19 lockdowns in March 2020, work with FPI’s international partners ground to a halt – including our vital efforts with the “UN Family Rights Caucus.”  We could not travel to the US during the past three years as a result of Covid-19 restrictions and other challenges.

Thankfully, however, God in His providence provided us with several strategic opportunities to undertake critical work with our pro-family allies in the US – which includes the “International Organisation for the Family” (IOF), “Family Watch International” (FWI), “National Centre on Sexual Exploitation” (NCOSE), “Family Research Council” (FRC), the “UN Family Rights Caucus” (UNFRC) and many other prominent organisations. This work significantly  strengthens our efforts in SA.

Most of the radical abortion and “sexual rights” policies making its way through South Africa’s Parliament are conceived at the United Nations (UN) and pushed by UN agencies like UNESCO, UNFPA. UNICEF and the WHO. The work of the “UN Family Rights Caucus” at UN HQ in New York, counters the diabolical global agenda of UN agencies – controlled by sexual rights radicals.

I will be bolstering the efforts of the “UN Family Rights Caucus” in New York by lobbying African ambassadors to reject pro-abortion and LGBTQ policies like “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE), SOGI, legalized prostitution, redefined marriage and the criminalizing of religious speech.

The UN ECOSOC Committee, including UN member-state representatives remained an additional 30 minutes to hear my unscheduled application at the UN in New York on 20 May 2019. Through a series of God interventions, FPI received ‘Special Consultative Status’ at the UN which grants us access to participate in key UN meetings and lobby representatives of UN member-states.

However, since 2020 – as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic – we could not take full advantage of this strategic opportunity. But doors have now opened in California, Washington DC and New York to further our pro-life and pro-family agenda that will reinforce our efforts in South Africa.

C-Fam, our pro-family ally in New York reports the efforts of the “UN Family Rights Caucus” has consistently defeated the radical abortion, feminist and LGBTQ agenda at the UN by directly engaging with UN member-state ambassadors (and their staff) at international UN sessions.

FPI’s ally, the “National Center on Sexual Exploitation” (NCOSE) in Washington DC provides excellent research and valuable expertise in the fight against sexual exploitation and abuse of women (and children). Their help in exposing the lie of legalized prostitution is critical for victory.

I will also be working closely with longtime FPI ally, Sharon Slater, president of “Family Watch International” (FWI). Sharon is a global expert on CSE. FWI will significantly enhance our ability to expose the dangers of CSE in South African public schools and reliably inform African leaders.

Several major pro-family initiatives are scheduled in the US during May – July 2023. We will take full advantage of this to reinforce ties with key international allies during these strategic events.

This trip is a significant undertaking for FPI. We are trusting God to go ahead of us. We also covet your prayers as we take the battle for faith, family and freedom in South Africa – international!

Please earnestly pray for the success of our work. Expenses for this trip are significant. We therefore appeal for your generous financial support to help us achieve our shared vision.
