“This radio station taught me how important and powerful prayer is, in all circumstances.” Abi* used to be one of FEBA Mali’s Muslim listeners. When she fell gravely ill last year, no doctors could help her, but through listening to KanuYah FM Sollo, she knew of the power Christian prayer was supposed to have.
“I was hopeful and fully confident that Christian prayer could cure my sickness completely. However, my family did not like the idea of sending any prayer request to Christians in this regard since they were Muslim.” Abi refused to give up. Finally, her family relented and asked a pastor to come and pray for her. Shortly afterward, she recovered fully.
Abi says Jesus has taken control of her life. “In fact, I am now a Christian and hope that my family, too, will all allow Him to walk into their lives as they listen to KanuYah FM Sollo every day.”
FEBA Mali reports that many Muslims came to Christ during Ramadan this year, thanks to radio broadcasts. The station also received numerous health-related prayer requests due to the shortage of electricity during a season with unprecedented high temperatures, which have claimed lives. After a week of prayer at a small church, FEBA Mali’s director says the temperatures in the district have lowered, although not to the desired level yet. Nevertheless, FEBA Mali has been demonstrating the power of prayer for years, and during Ramadan, they saw the extent of their reputation.
“People often came to the station or called to submit prayer requests instead of going to marabouts and other witch doctors to seek solutions to their life problems,” says FEBA Mali’s director. “How grateful we are to the Lord for answering our prayers!”
