Awe-inspiring and heart drenching journey of Apostle Peter Jones has so many in awe of his unique and practical approach to life after having a very rough start in this world where he stayed on the streets of Gauteng for 3 years before the Lord brought to a major shift in his life. He continues to share how he overcame so many trials to being the impactful community leader that he is today.
“Many say you cannot put from an empty cup but from a very young age I have always wanted to help the person next to me. I formed a group while in High School to get sponsors to help feed other peers like myself who didn’t know where food would be coming from. I learnt to give what I was also given! The Lord instructed me to give to an old white man called Ben living on the streets who needed help and was a friend of mine. I gave him my only loaf of bread that I got for that day while I was left with nothing. I walked a few steps and brother Nolan came and offered me clothes and food. Which is exactly what I am donating now,” says Apostle Jones.
Over 6000 families around Mpumalanga, North West, Free State and Gauteng were beneficiaries from 2020 to date. Many of those were given either a new home, food parcels, preloved clothes, school shoes and sanitary pads for young girls. The campaigns run throughout the year with some major organizations around South Africa and outside the country who continue to offer support to those who are in need.
When staying on the streets his biggest fear was always the thought of dying and nobody being able to find out. He would continue going out to share the Word to people and at night retreat to stay under a bridge. “I would make sure that I stay clean and would take my clothes and place the under my box and Daily Sun newspapers mostly; that I slept on so that I could use my body heat to also strategically iron the clothes I would need to wear. But people noticed my condition and offered help,” says Jones.
It is now years later and many are witnessing a complete shift and change in his life. Currently based in Mpumalanga, he had brought a new movement and shaking in the area where even various Chiefs and Induna’s are commending him for bringing practical life lessons and guidelines for those starting with nothing at all.
Apostle has since been nominated for two major Awards in the Sunrise Excellence Awards taking place in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. These nominations came after many witnessed the life-changing impact he has been making over the years. “The aim for our programs is to make these families feel loved and appreciated, instead of driving them further into self-destructive habits like alcohol and drug abuse. We equip the youth and help many unpack their career journeys with skills development platforms we have at our Wellness Centre.”
He is also the founder of New Creation Embassy ministry and Apostle Peter Jones Foundation. A self-published author of the Kings Novel Series that offers a practical day-to-day guideline for living a successful life. “Often times many people say they want the fame and glamor of being in ministry, while they don’t realize that our biggest duty is to offer service and support to others, most of which come at a expense /cost from you and not the other way round.”
