U-turn Homeless Ministries has a cheeky proposal this Valentine’s Day . . . GET ENGAGED!!!

CEO Jean-Ray Knighton Fitt says, “As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, we’re asking communities to get engaged with us – walk alongside us to rid our streets of homelessness. We’re asking businesses, politicians, donors and every part of the community to engage with us as we persevere in tackling homeless “hotspot” areas and give people the opportunities to receive the essential support they need to overcome their circumstance.”

Last year U-turn managed to engage over 200 000 homeless men and women. This means that through these engagements we either fed, clothed, provided showers, safe spaces, rehab support or social services to desperate men and women. Calculated as an average for the year – that’s more than 500 people each and every day!

The truth is, as a NPO without the meaningful partnerships of donors, U-turn’s work would be difficult. From rehab to life-coaching and transitional housing to employment, U-turn is a steadfast place of healing and HOPE. Their mission to make a difference in the lives of people affected by homelessness is the driving force behind all they do.

Knighton Fitt adds, “The uniqueness of our work with the homeless is that it’s not just a meal and blanket approach, it’s a vigorously tracked and audited programme with effective and repeatable results. Over 85% of graduates remain employed, sober and housed.”

This February we’re asking business and individual donors to engage with us and spread some love where it’s needed most,” concludes Knighton Fitt.

All donations made to U-turn are tax deductible and eligible for Section 18A Certificates. Funds received will be used to promote pathways out of homelessness for people living on the streets. With tax year-end around the corner it’s hoped that donors will respond and make a contribution to U-turn.
