On Wednesday, 16 April 2025 – we invite you to join us in a powerful and unifying event – the March of Hope organised by Good Hope Christian Centre. On this day, we will gather as a community, raising our voices and lifting our prayers for our city, our nation, and our own lives. This is more than a march; it is a protest, a prayer walk, and a bold declaration of hope in the face of adversity.

We will begin at the historic Castle of Good Hope, march to the Houses of Parliament, proceed down Adderley Street, pause outside City Hall, and return to the Castle. We will start gathering from 11am to begin marching at 12:30pm

Picture this: Jesus, carrying His cross, leads our way. Surrounding Him are Mary, biblical figures, religious leaders, and Roman soldiers – a vivid reminder of His betrayal, false accusations, and unjust judgment. We march in His footsteps, identifying with His suffering, for we too see betrayal, corruption, and failure in our time.

Pastor Wendy McDonald, Founder and Senior Pastor of Good Hope Christian Centre, shared: “Now more than ever, Cape Town needs hope. This march is not just an event; it’s a declaration that Jesus is the answer for our city. We believe in a future filled with hope, and we invite everyone to stand with us.”

We march to confront government corruption, mismanagement, fraud, and the destruction of lives through violence and lack of education. We march to challenge a religious system that has too often failed the people in their darkest hours. We march in hope and prayer, trusting that as we walk together in this season of Lent and the Passover, God will hear us and heal our land.

This is a moment to stand together – to remember Jesus, to pray for our families, and to seek forgiveness and renewal in our own hearts. As we walk, we carry the hope that our nation can rise above its struggles, that our city can be a place of peace and opportunity, and that our lives can reflect the love and grace of Christ.

Bring your voice, your prayers, and your courage. Walk with us as we cry out for justice, as we lift up our brokenness, and as we dare to believe in a better tomorrow. This is your chance to be part of something bigger – a movement of hope that begins with us, right here in Cape Town.

Let’s march together. Let’s pray together. Let’s hope together.
