Uncle Angus Buchan was deeply moved after receiving a letter from a Mogale City (Krugersdorp) resident asking if he would consider holding a Prayer Meeting in the town. The resident, and many other members of the community, have been desperate for a move of God in their town – which was labelled ‘Devilsdorp’ by a recent documentary series. The area has been plagued with unemployment, shocking levels of poverty, crime, drugs, alcoholism, satanism, and absolute despair. Feeling righteously angered by what the devil has done in this community, Angus agreed to hold a prayer meeting in Mogale City. He knew that the Name of Jesus needed to be spoken over the town, and he knew that at the Name of JESUS, the enemy would flee…
Speak Jesus, which took place on the 24th September, Heritage Day, was one of the spiritual highlights of my life. I have been preaching the Gospel now for over 40 years, but at this event I experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit in a way I have very rarely experienced.

A round of thanks
The event was organised by a team of volunteers from Krugersdorp and around South Africa. People contributed their time, money, and resources freely to make this a memorable event. We thank Jesus for His provision – we do not ask for money, and we do not charge entry fees, yet everything was paid for. We want to thank all the unseen helpers, the doctors, nurses, the fire brigade, the marshals, and attendants. Jesus knows who you are, and He will reward you.

Spirit of love and compassion
Food packs were made for the poor and those who travelled from far. Donations for food were received from businesses and the working class alike. Buses were sponsored for those who had no transport. A choir was bused in from Back to the Bible College in Barberton, where students come from all over the continent of Africa. Their singing deeply touched the hearts of the audience. Special seating was provided for the disabled, sign language was available, and lifts were provided for those battling with the walk from the parking lot to the event area. The spirit of love and compassion was felt by all. The Lord Jesus Christ was at the centre of this gathering.

The town rebranded
Despite the heat and dust, the crowd sat in unity. The music was beautiful, the Name of Jesus was lifted high and sung with love and reverence. We enjoyed music from a variety of artists and bands including The Base Church Band, Henry Pike – who sang I Speak Jesus, and trumpeter Dan Newell. They all honoured Jesus with their amazing gifts. There were over 3000 intercessors praying for the meeting. After the message was preached, the crowd stood and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord of their life. Krugersdorp has a new name, it is clean, it is washed, and is now called Jesus-dorp. There is a beautiful white cross planted on the top of the hill, a reminder of this special day and a reminder to keep speaking the Name of Jesus, from whom we receive our healing, our deliverance, and our salvation.
I Speak Jesus
I just want to speak the Name of Jesus, over every heart and every mind.
‘Cause I know there is peace within Your presence, I speak Jesus.
I just want to speak the Name of Jesus, ‘til every dark addiction starts to break.
Declaring there is hope and there is freedom, I speak Jesus.
‘Cause Your Name is power, Your Name is healing, Your Name is life.
Break every stronghold, shine through the shadows, burn like a fire…
