God has made it clear over the past few years that He will be arising as Jehovah El Mishpat, the Lord God of justice, in this era and dispensation. God is a God of justice and is also a God of grace, and therefore does not take action without first sounding an alarm and giving a word of caution so that those immersed in sin can take heed and repent.

A prophetic word
The Word that the Lord gave me over 15 years ago was from Luke 12:2, “For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” This Scripture emphasises that whatever has been concealed and done under the cover of darkness will be brought to light. We have been consistently sounding the alarm over the past years that exposure is coming to the house of God and to the nations at large.

Repentance is twofold
The word for repentance in Greek is metanoia, and speaks to the repentance that happens in one’s mind. One must take a deliberate decision to change one’s mind and outlook. Repentance starts with a deliberate, intentional, purposeful, and genuine decision to change. The second part of repentance relates to the action part. In Hebrew, the word for repentance is teshuvah and relates to the action aspect. We have to turn away from evil towards good and turn away from darkness to light. Teshuvah has three essential aspects to it:

  • Confession
  • Regret, remorse, and contrition
  • Not repeating evil acts and a sinful lifestyle

When we bring both the Greek and Hebrew aspects of repentance together, we get the full meaning of repentance. Repentance starts with a change of mind and ends with a change in behaviour and conduct.

Judgement starts in the house of the Lord
In the past couple of years, we’ve seen numerous men and women of God from various nations stepping down from the pulpit after it was discovered they were involved in illicit sexual or financial misdemeanours. Many of these leaders were internationally renowned persons who had thriving ministries. Most of them had been confronted about their sin and either fully denied it or minimised it and refused to repent. Their exposure shook the Body of Christ to the core. When we overlook and ignore the opportunities that God gives us to repent and turn away from our sin, we will face consequences – and those consequences will be publicly known if one is a public figure.

Exposure is God’s mercy
Contrary to popular belief, exposure of sin is for the benefit of the sinner. It signifies the gracious heart of God and demonstrates that He loves us too much to allow us to go to hell. Exposure is His way of giving us another opportunity to align our lives to righteous living so we don’t spend eternity in hell.

The Church must be salt and light
The Church has a responsibility to be salt and light. Salt acts as a flavour enhancer and purifier, and light exposes darkness and shows us what direction to take. It is fitting, therefore, that judgement starts within the house of God before communities and nations can be cleaned up. Alignment must first start within the body of Christ before it can spill over into the community at large.

Expect continued exposure in this season
At the time of writing, one international preacher has just admitted guilt in defrauding the taxman for a large amount of money. Others have been involved in looting government coffers and funding after they were exposed in documentaries showing illicit trading in gold and other commodities. The Church and body of Christ must prepare to witness more exposures in this season.

Higher standards for believers
“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God…” (1 Pet 4:17). God’s judgement starts in the Church with believers. There is a higher standard required of us. As the Lord Jesus taught: “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required” (Luke 12:48). Believers, therefore, will be called to discipline and to account before unbelievers.

A warning to shepherds
In Jeremiah 23, God issues a stern warning to shepherds who are abusing, taking advantage of, and mistreating His sheep. When the congregation have unrighteous individuals leading them, they often follow their example. He warns leaders that He will hold them accountable, and then gather His remnant people and find them righteous leaders who will guide them.

A clear call to repent
The call is clear – repent or be exposed. This is a call to all in the Body of Christ to self-examine, introspect, confess sins, repent (James 5:16), and live righteously – or face consequences
