Leon du Preez is the founder and senior pastor of Encounter Church, a prophetic movement and one of South Africa’s fastest-growing churches, with campuses nationwide and a global online congregation.

“An angel said to me these words: ‘This place is void of a king. The king has left.’ And I said, ‘How?’ And they said, ‘It was hidden … things are not as they seem.’ There is a hidden illness. And the voice of an angel said again, ‘The king has passed.’ I saw a flag that was green and yellow flown at half-mast.”
Only weeks later, on 29 December 2022, the world was shaken by the news that Pelé, Brazil’s football legend and widely hailed as the “King of Soccer”, had passed away. This followed reports assuring the public that he was “not at risk” but merely “in treatment”. TORNADO IN KWAZULU-NATAL

“I saw a cleansing taking place in KwaZulu-Natal, or a storm is going to take place, and they are going to say that it’s unusual … I’m seeing a tornado in the physical.”
On 3 June 2024, an EF3 tornado hit the north of KwaZulu-Natal, causing significant damage. It was widely reported as being “unusual”.
