For as long as I could remember, I felt the calling of the Lord to be an evangelist burn like a wildfire in my heart. As a child, I would lie on my face weeping for souls in the presence of Jesus while Benny Hinn Crusade Highlights played on the VCR. I would need the help of the Holy Spirit to answer the calling more than I realised. I wrongfully thought that you needed to have a big name and an even bigger budget in order to win souls for Christ.
A life changing vision
One evening in 2011, I encountered Jesus in a vision that changed my life forever. The Holy Spirit gave me a glimpse of how the Father’s heart broke when His Son cried out on the Cross, “My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” In that moment I realised how much the Father loves the Son. I suddenly understood the price the Father paid on Calvary to save our souls. In the vision, the Father turned to me and said, “I love you just as much as I love Jesus, seeing that I gave Him in your place so you may live. When I look at you, I see His Life-Blood.”
Love is the key
This changed the way I saw myself. I found my identity in the Father’s love for me. I felt the love of God being poured out in my heart. If the Father loves us just as much as He loves Jesus, then we need to love others just as much as we love Jesus, because He took their place on the Cross so that they could live. I now understood the value of each soul. The Word declares, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:35, 1 John 4:20, John 15:9-12).
“I felt the calling of the Lord to be an evangelist burn in my heart.”
A spiritual breakthrough
Not long after this revelation, my friend and I received an invitation to join a whole-town Revival with Evangelist Robbie Cairncross. For three days I tried to impress the Lord with my efforts when suddenly the “lights went on” – I did not need to wait for an invitation from a church to minister the Gospel. I was to consider the whole world as my congregation and every street corner the pulpit. Go minister in the streets, marketplaces, schools, and factories. We need to move outside the “four walls” of the church and spontaneously shine His light everywhere. This is “prophetic evangelism” (Rom 5:8, Zech 4:6).
Impromptu revival service
I immediately went to our team leader, Shawn Peters, and rejoiced, “I’ve got it, I’ve got it!” We held an impromptu revival service at the public library, with over 40 staff members and patrons in attendance. The fire of God’s glory flamed into joy as they received redemption though the Blood of the Lamb of God. On our way out we encountered a group of students and the ministering continued. Tears of conviction and joy flowed throughout the day and it had nothing to do with a name or big budgets – all it took was the presence of the Lord! On our way home we saw the Community Centre full of people waiting for their pension payouts. We realised that the Lord had filled the hall for us! Two hours later we were still laying hands on the sick waiting for prayer in a line stretching around the block!
The Great Commission is the privilege of every believer.
The great harvest
LoveBorn is taking the “Revival of Love” to local churches, showing believers how to enjoy living in the secret place through prayer, training, and practical prophetic evangelism sessions! New evangelists are born by following our example and receiving an impartation of the anointing. We have seen how crowds spontaneously form around believers as they preach salvation and pray for the sick. These are days like in the book of Acts! The Gospel is being preached in restaurants, old age homes, at police stations, hospitals, and sporting events. I have seen grown men weep like babies and accept Jesus in public! This is the era of the greatest harvest of souls the world has ever seen, and we require all hands on deck!
The Lord’s invitation to you
Hear the Lord’s urgent invitation to “practice the ever present presence of the Holy Spirit.” Life was never meant to be lived outside the presence of the Lord. Ministry overflows from the joy of being in His presence. Faith works through love (Gal 5:6). The love of God is an all-consuming fire. Come as you are. Show up, and allow the Holy Spirit to inspire prayer. The Great Commission is the privilege of every believer. This move of God started 2000 years ago, and it is still expanding. The best is yet to come. All that God needs is ‘contagious’ believers, wanting to experience the joy of the harvest.
