Freedom of Choice around the globe
In June I wrote an article on mandatory vaccine passports in which I expressed my view of their unconstitutionality.( see joynews.co.za/mandatory-vaccine-passports-are-unconstitutional) .

The issue of mandatory vaccines is still a burning topic as we see many many nations buckling down to impose mandatory vaccine passports on their citizens. Most of these mandatory vaccine regulations apply in respect of employment and travel. Many nations are beginning to implement legislation that requires individuals to have proof of having been vaccinated before they can travel or keep their jobs.

We live in a society that is essentially free, but since the beginning of lockdown, we are seeing a gradual trend and movement towards less freedoms and rights. Our freedom of movements, association, speech, religion and choice have been greatly affected and impacted. These are freedoms that were hard fought for and won over the years. The rationale given for the removal of these freedoms, is allegedly to protect lives, but there has been insufficient evidence to support some of the very drastic measures that have been taken.

Whilst it is true that freedom of choice must be limited in certain specific instances, it is also true that freedom of choice must be protected and cannot just be taken away willy nilly. Rights must be balanced.

Freedom of choice has been defined in the Index of Economic Freedom Report as an individual’s opportunity and autonomy to perform an action selected from at least two available options, unconstrained by external parties” .  Freedom of choice is  applied differently in different scenarios, ie: how it is applied in politics differs from how it is applied in economics. How freedom of choice is measured is also a key factor in its application.

Freedom of choice in South Africa
Recently, the South African government rolled out a no fault compensation fund for individuals who have suffered harm as a result of being vaccinated. To read more about the fund, log into link  https://joynews.co.za/covid-19-vaccine-injury-compensation-in-south-africa/ . The truth of the matter is that no government or state will implement a fund to compensate people for injury, if there is no possibility of being injured. The rolling out of this fund therefore, is inter alia, an admission that there are some who have suffered adverse effects after having received the vaccination dose(s). This fact alone constitutes sufficient grounds to mitigate against the imposition of compulsory or mandatory vaccinations. People should have a right to choose as to whether they want to take the risk of being adversely affected by a vaccination dose or not. That right must not be taken away from them by any state or government. Scientific evidence also shows that people who have been vaccinated still carry a chance of contracting covid-19. Again, this supports the view that the choice to be vaccinated should be voluntary. One cannot impose a decision on a group of individuals for vaccinations when it may not even protect them.

In most nations, the decision on whether or not to get vaccinated has so far largely been left to the individual citizens and must continue to be left to them.

Dear South Africa invites you to comment
The activist organization, Dear South Africa have created a platform for South African citizens to give feedback regarding the issue of mandatory vaccinations. dearsouthafrica.co.za/mandatory-vaccination

This link will allow you to express your views regarding mandatory vaccinations and your constitutionally entrenched right of freedom of choice. When you enter into this site, you will be invited to comment on, object to, or support mandatory vaccinations for Covid-19 in respect of these three areas:

-mandatory vaccination in the workplace
-mandatory vaccinations in schools
-vaccine passports

It takes less than two minutes to complete this questionnaire. Your feedback may influence the outcome on mandatory vaccinations in South African and impact on your right of “freedom of choice”.

  1. Thank you Pearl for addressing this issue…main stream media is pushing the global agenda at warp speed.

This jab is deadly. I believe there are a lot of people who have been jabbed that are now sitting with remorse due to their decision. I suggest all that have taken it..repent to Our Father God and take no more.

    Blessings
