Today, marks the end of Ramadan, the holy fasting month of Muslims. Throughout this month, millions of Muslims fasted, gave generous donations to help the poor, prayed daily and studied the Qur’an in hopes of gaining the approval of Allah.
As we prayed through Ramadan, we not only prayed for Christians facing persecution, but also for their oppressors. We prayed that, while Muslims around the world were seeking God during this time, they would find Jesus. We prayed that they would accept Him as their Lord and Saviour, and that they would come to have a saving relationship with Him.
Although we may never know the full impact of our prayers during this season, we do know that we serve a God who hears those prayers. And that is why we need to continue to pray…
Pray for those Muslims who have encountered God during the month – that the seeds planted in their hearts, will flourish into a relationship with Christ. And that many more Muslims may get to know the true God and experience His everlasting love and compassion, expressed to us though the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Pray also for our persecuted brothers and sisters that they will be a shining light in the darkness around them.
