The battle for faith, family and religious freedoms will be fierce in 2021. As a result, Family Policy Institute and its local and international allies have joined forces to gird up for the fight ahead.
FPI hit the ground running in 2021. We released our first video on 19 January promoting the benefits of the “Smart Choices” values-based sexuality education curriculum. We will release additional videos during the next few weeks detailing critical information about “Smart Choices” through our nationwide digital campaign.
FPI, in partnership with “Family Watch International” will ramp up efforts this year to expose the dangerously deceptive agenda behind “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE). We are monitoring the strategy of the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and its UN master, UNESCO – to keep parents, educators, and Church and civil society leaders reliably informed about this diabolical agenda.
The SA Law Reform Commission (SALRC) recently released its Discussion Paper on the proposed “Single Marriage Statute.” This is the most destructive social policy ever devised by government because its primary aim is to redefine traditional marriage to appease sexual rights radicals and UN agencies.
Besides drafting FPI’s submission to the SALRC on the two proposals set out in the Discussion Paper, we must inform and educate Church and civil-society leaders about the dangers of diminishing traditional marriage – by equating it in all respects with a smorgasbord of counterfeit options (that is NOT marriage) – which will seriously undermine this ancient God-given institution and weaken society’s foundations
Sexual rights radicals are also lobbying government to decriminalise the sex industry in SA.
Decriminalising prostitution in South Africa’s abusive and exploitative culture will be devastating for women and children. Following a 9 year study, the SALRC recommended against decriminalised prostitution. FPI’s submission on Prostitution Law Reform was mentioned more than 55 times in the SALRC’s Final Report on Prostitution Law Reform including adopting many of our recommendations. We can repeat this succes for marriage.
In addition, in 2020 FPI was granted “Special Consultative Status” by the UN NGO Committee. We received our first invitation to participate in the 65th “Commission on the Status of Women” in March this year. This critical UN Conference will be held virtually but it is the forum where international feminists groups and sexual rights radicals usually push their diabolical abortion and sexual rights agendas on UN member states.
As a member of the “UN Family Rights Caucus” Arlene and I will participate in this virtual UN Conference to defend the natural family and promote Biblical values for life, family and liberty. We will also participate in an online strategy meeting with our allies in the international pro-family movement soon to prepare for this critical global event.
