For more than five decades, Christ for all Nations has carried the Gospel across Africa and the nations with extraordinary impact. Since they started counting in 1987, they have seen over 100 million documented decisions for Jesus. Yet according to CfaN president Daniel Kolenda, the greatest harvest is still ahead. “What I believe the Lord showed me is that, as amazing as our past results have been, this next season will be even greater,” says Kolenda. “We will literally double the harvest in the next decade.” That vision – a “Decade of Double Harvest” – goes beyond large Gospel campaigns. It is about equipping and sending evangelists into Africa and across the world with the message of Jesus. The CfaN School of Evangelism was established with that purpose in mind.
Training evangelists for the greatest harvest in history
Launched in South Africa in 2022 and now deployed globally, the School of Evangelism (SOE) is one of five ministry training programmes offered through CfaN. The six-week intensive is focused on one purpose: equipping authentic, Spirit-filled evangelists for Gospel ministry in their own nations and beyond. The training combines classroom instruction with practical evangelism and field activation. Students receive training in every aspect of evangelistic ministry – from preaching and soul-winning to organising outreaches and ministering under the power of the Holy Spirit. What makes the school distinct is its hands-on approach. Students do not simply study evangelism; they actively participate in it.
Evangelism beyond the classroom
The final two weeks of the school include a full in-field initiation where the entire class ministers together on the mission field and witnesses hundreds responding to the Gospel. Here, students put theory into practice through local one-on-one outreaches, open-air preaching, Gospel Truck ministry, hospital evangelism, prison ministry, school outreaches, and large regional evangelistic events. Graduates also gain access to the CfaN Evangelism Alliance, a growing network of trained evangelists collaborating on large-scale evangelistic initiatives around the world.
From the classroom to the nations
One of the clearest examples is Lindi Dlamini. In 2022, Lindi attended the first School of Evangelism. Together with fellow graduates from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and France, she helped launch Salvation for the Nations – an evangelistic ministry committed to reaching unreached people groups across Africa and beyond. Since then, the team has conducted missions in Ghana, South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Malawi through crusades, youth outreaches, and community evangelism initiatives. “Our ministry was birthed at the 2022 SOE by a few of us graduates,” Lindi explains. “Immediately after graduation, we got to work and held our first month-long mission in northern Ghana four months later, and we haven’t looked back since.”
A family commissioned for evangelism
The impact of the CfaN School of Evangelism is not limited to individuals. Entire families are being mobilised for the Gospel. The Wentzel family’s story began when Emil completed the School of Evangelism in Midrand in 2023. Soon after, he sold his shares in his company to pursue evangelism full-time. Soon, other family members also responded to the call to evangelism. Their son, Joshua, completed the SOE in Durban in 2024, followed by Angela, his wife, and Kaylee, his daughter, in Bloemfontein in 2025. Since then, the family has ministered through open-air evangelism and Gospel crusades across Southern and East Africa, including Kenya, Liberia, Limpopo, Sharpeville, and beyond, where they have seen thousands respond to the Gospel.
Evangelism has no age limit
The diversity of students attending the South African School of Evangelism is striking. Men and women from across Africa and abroad – young and old alike – have answered the call. One extraordinary example is Jane. At age 65, Jane attended the very first SOE in Cape Town. Her life and ministry changed significantly. From ministering in cities like Nigeria to serving in gang-ridden communities across the Eastern Cape, Jane has become a passionate evangelist carrying the Gospel into some of the most difficult regions of Southern Africa.
For the past two years, she and fellow graduates have ministered in schools, villages, churches, and communities plagued by poverty, fear, violence, and oppression. They have witnessed healing, deliverance, and transformed lives through the power of Jesus Christ. During the Motherwell Crusade alone – held in the heart of gangster territory – 12 new evangelists were raised up and are now actively serving throughout the Eastern Cape. Together, these teams have reached more than 500 000 young people in the region. “Today we are working across Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Soweto, KZN, Botswana, Lesotho, and the Western Cape, believing God for yet another million souls,” Jane says. “I have become known as ‘Mama Jane’ – perhaps because I turn 70 next year – but all glory belongs to God.”
Raising evangelists across Africa
Since its launch, the School of Evangelism has graduated 111 students across five schools in South Africa alone. Combined with the 574 graduates from CfaN South Africa’s Fire Camp evangelism training, these evangelists have already seen more than 1,9 million decisions for Christ. Many graduates are now leading crusades, planting evangelistic ministries, mobilising churches, and conducting Gospel campaigns across Africa and beyond.
For Mari Heymans, SOE became the catalyst that launched her into a new dimension of ministry. “Going to the SOE was like a springboard for me in evangelism,” she says. “I was already involved in ministry, but I felt like I was still missing something of God’s heart for people. At the SOE, I found that missing piece – a deep conviction and passion from God’s heart for the lost, along with the practical tools and hands-on experience to play my part in reaching people with the Gospel.”
