Several articles and social media posts provide a wide range of perspectives on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s “reset” meeting with US President, Donald Trump at the White House on 21 May. The leftist mainstream media labelled it, “ambush in the oval office.”

Whatever your views on the Ramaphosa Trump meeting, one thing is certain, South Africa desperately needs investment from the world’s largest economy – to kickstart its own ailing economy. SCOPA chairperson, Songezo Zibi warned, “South Africa is heading for a fiscal dead-end.  90 percent of revenue is consumed by just three budgetary items.”

The SA/US delegations negotiated the pre-conditions for a trade deal following the oval office drama. The Trump admin will not conclude a deal if the ANC does not halt its prosecution of Israel at the ICJ, repeal the ‘Expropriation Without Compensation Act’, and amend BEE and other race-based policies to end the discrimination of minority groups.

The Government of National Unity (GNU) will be forced to “reset” to rescue SA from economic stagnation. Ramaphosa is running out of options. Fitch warns, SA’s debt will reach 79,5 % of GDP in 26/27. GNU policy must change or face economic collapse.

Family Policy Institute (FPI) is geared up for the change that will come. We are working with our international allies to lobby for change in social policy. The single “Marriage Bill,” legalized prostitution and the sexualization of children in education are socially harmful policies that must be reversed to defend and protect women, children and the family unit.

FPI’s six-month fundraising campaign ending 30 June is lagging behind. We hope and pray we will overcome our current deficit so FPI can intensify its efforts on the frontlines of the battle for faith, family and freedom. Your prayers and financial partnership are critical.

Working strategically with our allies in the “African Christian Professionals Forum” (ACPF) and our international partners, FPI is lobbying African policy makers to reverse the harmful policies that undermine the Biblical value system that support healthy and stable family life.

The ACPF Conference on Family Values is coming to Cape Town in May 2027. You can view the 3 minute video of the handing over ceremony at the recent Nairobi Conference.

The ANC is already amending its economy crippling BEE policies to encourage Elon Musk’s Starlink to operate in SA. Ramaphosa emphasized SA’s need for investment at the White House –  blaming the high crime rates on the lack of investment and technology.

The reality is, economic stagnation, rising unemployment, high crime rates, deepening poverty, crumbling infrastructure and failing state-owned-enterprises are all direct results of the ANC’s cadre deployment policies, rampant corruption and gross mismanagement.

President Ramaphosa has presided over the decline of South Africa in every measure. The corrupt and bought and paid for media describes Ramaphosa as a “calm and steady leader.” Which means he “calmly and steadily” transformed SA into a failed mafia state.

Corruption is evident everywhere. Ramaphosa has done nothing to reign it in. He promised to action the State Capture Report, implement lifestyle audits of corrupt public officials and stop the looting of tax-payer money. He failed on every promise – for the ANC’s benefit.

FPI is working diligently to expose these corrupt practices and repeal harmful policies that undermine faith, family and freedom. We remain on the frontlines as a result of your loyal financial support. Please make a generous donation today and help keep us in the fight.
