Two events over the past weeks reinforced widespread public perception, the ANC crime network does only what’s best for its cadres even to the detriment of South Africa and its people. The first is former president Jacob Zuma’s visit to India accompanied by state capture fugitive, Ajay Gupta and South Africa’s High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal.

The second is President Cyril Ramaphosa’s morally reprehensible re-appointment of the disgraced former minister of communications, Dina Pule as Minister of Social Development. Dina Pule replaces the equally corrupt and disgraceful former minister of social development, Sisisi Tolashe who was fired for appalling acts of malfeasance.

Khumbadzo Nshavheni, the tone-deaf minister in the presidency, said, “South African High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal’s visit to the fugitive Gupta (crime) family in India along with former president Jacob Zuma is a “disgrace” and “middle finger” to South Africans.”

Nshavheni’s staggering hypocrisy characterizes the moral bankruptcy of the ANC. She failed to mention the “middle finger” shown to corruption weary citizens by her boss, “his excellency” President Cyril Ramaphosa – who repeatedly assures SA he is “fighting” corruption while he appoints (and protects) the most corrupt in his party to key positions.

The 3.5 year, R1 billion State Capture Inquiry fingered Jacob Zuma as the mastermind behind the multi-billion rand state capture looting spree. The Zondo Commission also revealed how the ANC enabled and defended Zuma’s crimes against the people – which included then deputy president Ramaphosa – the current architect of State Capture 2.0.

Zuma established a criminal alliance with the Gupta crime family through which billions were siphoned from the treasury through tender-fraud and other corrupt schemes to enrich himself, his family and ANC cronies. South Africa’s democratic institutions were degraded and hollowed out to essentially serve the greed of the ANC and its foreign benefactors.

Then deputy president, Ramaphosa stood idly by and watched the ANC loot the country to the brink of economic collapse. He joined his comrades opposing eight no confidence votes in Parliament to protect Zuma. Ramaphosa serves the ANC and not South Africa.

Rampant state corruption and the gross mismanagement of state resources has robbed South Africa of its enormous potential. The ANC’s economic, labour and foreign policies has crippled SA’s economic growth prospects, deepened poverty and fueled joblessness.

Ramaphosa is controlled by the ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) – many of whom are implicated in corruption. He repeatedly claims the ANC led government is “committed to rooting out corruption” – but his actions prove he works to entrench it.

The president was forced to fire Nobuhle Nkabane, the minister of higher education when her malfeasance was exposed. However, Ramaphosa remained silent when the ANC re-appointed the disgraced former minister as deputy chief whip in Parliament.

Then there is Thembi Simelane, the former minister of justice, a recipient of the looted VBS Bank billions. When the media exposed Simelane’s corruption, instead of firing her Ramaphosa revealed his true intentions by moving her to the human settlements’ portfolio.

Several ANC officials implicated in major corruption scandals remain in high paying public office courtesy of Ramaphosa’s fake war on corruption. Zweli Mkhize, the former health minister who resigned when he was implicated in the R150 million Digital Vibes corruption scandal enjoys a top parliamentary post along with many other corrupt and inept cadres.

Instead of “fighting corruption” in his failed administration, Ramaphosa is fighting to avoid accountability for questionable actions of his own. The ANC tried to protect Ramaphosa from scrutiny in the Phala Phala scandal. Thankfully, the Constitutional Court stepped in.

Ramaphosa is the head of the snake, like Zuma was during his disastrous presidency. He deceives citizens by repeatedly making promises he has no intention of keeping. Ramaphosa main objective is to remain in power so he and his cronies can bleed SA dry.

South Africa must reject the failed and corrupt presidency of Cyril Ramaphosa. The nation must also reject the morally bankrupt MK and EFF cults. We must and can do better.
