SA’s Crisis Of Crises! The ANC Vs The People Of South Africa!

The noose appears to be tightening around former president, Jacob Zuma and ANC Secretary General, Ace Magashule as both men’s quest to evade justice approach dead ends. Mr. Zuma failed to submit an affidavit to the Constitutional Court by deadline 14 April in response to impending sanctions for his refusal to appear at the State Capture Inquiry. All that is left is for the ConCourt to hand down judgment in Zuma’s contempt of court case.

More bad news for Zuma is the recent Appeals Court ruling that he must pay back the R16 million of public funds used for legal fees in several court appearances.

Magashule’s 30-day deadline looms at the end of April amid speculation he will refuse to “step aside” – as directed by an ANC NEC resolution – The governing party concluded that officials charged with corruption – who refuse to step aside – will be suspended by the party.

The “Radical Economic Transformation” or RET faction in the ANC have thrown their weight behind Zuma and Magashule and have accused President Cryril Ramaphosa of representing the interest of “white monopoly capital.” Unsurprisingly, the RET faction attacked the integrity of Deputy Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo and the work of the State Capture Inquiry.   

News broke of a burglary and shots fired through the window of the State Capture Inquiry offices. Laptops were reportedly stolen. The burglary reinforces suspicions that opposition to the Zondo Commission is escalating as it concludes its corruption exposing investigation.

Party officials admit two ANC’s currently exist. One led by Ramaphosa and the other Magashule. Tragically, however, it is the governing party that created the culture of corruption, fraud, theft, gross maladministration and non-accountability. The fact that its senior officials now reject any and all accountability is a direct consequence of ANC policies.

To illustrate this point, it took the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) 13 years to deliver a verdict of gross misconduct against W/Cape Judge President, John Hlophe for attempting to influence a judgment in favor of Jacob Zuma. In addition, the courts again ruled against the discredited Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane for yet another dodgy report.

Media reports reveal 35 percent of senior officials in government departments are not qualified for their jobs. Two-thirds of municipalities in SA are non-functional and bankrupt. Most State-Owned Enterprises are run into the ground and crippled by massive debt. The Road Accident Fund (RAF), the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) and several others are destroyed by corruption.

The R500 billion earmarked for Covid relief is riddled with ANC implicated corruption. The R300 million allocated as Covid relief for struggling artists and musicians also “disappeared.”

The governing party is wholly responsible for the staggering corruption, fraud, theft, money-laundering, racketeering and gross-mismanagement of vital state resources that brought South Africa to its knees. In fact, the ANC has been more devastating to the country’s economy and stability than the Covid-19 pandemic. It actually steals from the poor!

As a consequence, the ANC is incapable of fighting corruption. It operates more like organized crime than a governing party in a functioning democracy. The ANC shields and enables the corrupt and incompetent within its ranks to the detriment of millions of citizens.

The ANC’s policy of cadre deployment lies at the root of this national tragedy. The party deploys its members to critical state positions regardless of character or competency. In other words, the ANC serves the best interest of the ANC – and not the citizens of South Africa – leaving the average citizen to pick up the pieces of the devastation of its policies.

One example of this tragedy is the massive increases in energy prices. By April next year electricity prices will increase by 30 percent. The ANC destroyed Eskom through massive corruption and gross mismanagement. Now you and I must pay the price for their crimes.

The Gauteng Health Dept admitted hospitals and clinics in the region are not in compliance with health and safety protocols. The Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital suffered a devastating fire last week. Firefighters could not douse the flames because they could not access water. Other infrastructure was found in disrepair because of a lack of maintenance.

A woman admitted to Baragwanath Hospital in Gauteng recorded videos of her ordeal. She described the hospital as “a hellhole.” The woman died in the facility shortly after sending her family the videos. The Gauteng Health Dept has never been held accountable for its failings including the Life Isidimeni tragedy where more than a hundred patients died needlessly.

Claims against the National Dept of Health are reportedly in the region of R106 billion!

The brazen (ongoing) looting of hundreds of billions of tax-payers money and the wanton destruction of once-functional public institutions expose the terrible injustice of the governing party’s incompetence and policies. It puts the party before the people of SA – always!

If you doubt this do some research of your own. ANC officials, their families and the politically connected have become fabulously wealthy as a direct result of corruption. Contrast that with the average hardworking  taxpayer who is struggling to stay afloat and deeper in debt.

South Africa is in a governance crisis, a corruption crisis, a leadership crisis, a moral crisis, an economic crisis, an education crisis, a health crisis, an energy crisis, a water crisis, a prosecutorial crisis, a policing crisis, a service delivery crisis…We’re in a crisis of crises!

We must pray for God’s sovereign intervention in South Africa. But you and I must also act to remove the criminally liable ANC from power. South African citizens consigned the apartheid regime to the dustbin of history for its crimes against humanity. We must do likewise to the ANC – for the same reasons – before it’s too late. We did it before, we can do it again.
