On 27 April 2021, South Africa observed the 27th anniversary of its first Democratic Elections also known as “Freedom Day.” Tragically, although the democratic dispensation dismantled the apartheid system, the country’s citizens are now “free” to suffer the injustices of endemic corruption, political manipulation and the erosion of fundamental freedoms.
The will to secure and uphold the rights and freedoms of citizens enshrined in the Constitution depend entirely on the integrity of the governing authority. Based on the ANC government’s past performance, it is clear citizens cannot trust government to defend, protect and uphold their human rights and freedoms. We must, therefore, do it ourselves.
Family Policy Institute (FPI) was chartered with the single-minded objective of defending faith, family and religious freedoms in South Africa. Our tireless efforts to confront the assaults on the Christian faith, the natural family and religious freedoms earned us several major victories against anti-family groups and foreign radicals operating in the country.
One such attack is the agenda to redefine marriage to include same-sex and transgender unions – effectively abolishing man, woman marriage. Religious marriage officers will be compelled by law to solemnize unions that conflict with their religious beliefs and convictions. We are working hard to mobilise the Church against this UN driven threat against marriage.
President Ramaphosa’s cabinet approved the Green Paper on the “Single Marriage Policy” for public consultation. Equality and dignity are buzz words used to legitimise this atrocity even though government plans to devalue a civil institution that served human civilisation for millennia. You can still make submissions on the SA Law Reform Commission (SALRC) Discussion Paper by 17 May 2021, Att: Pierre Van Wyk at pvanwyk@justice.gov.za
Please be aware, FPI’s success hinges on partnerships with Christian citizens like you. Anti-family groups are well financed by leftist organisations and billionaires. But the vital work of FPI depends entirely on the financial support of our friends and partners in this ministry.
We currently face formidable threats against our faith, the natural family and religious freedoms. We need your prayers and financial support to expose these harmful agendas and to reliably inform, educate and equip the Christian community to defeat these attacks.
Even as we observed “Freedom Day” government is plotting to seriously erode our fundamental freedoms especially Biblical beliefs and convictions. The “Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Amendment Bill” will severely threaten and curtail the religious freedoms of individuals, religious institutions and even NPO’s like FPI.
This Bill is open for public comment. Please see background information here.
We are fighting for a Godly South Africa. If we stand together to expose the hidden agendas of local and foreign anti-family groups operating in SA – we will defeat them. You and I can do more together than on our own. That’s why your partnership with FPI is so critical.
FPI is working diligently to defeat the UNESCO devised and controlled “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) agenda in SA. We have launched “Smart Choices” as a safe and common-sense alternative to the dangerous sexual indoctrination of CSE. See info here.
Sexual rights groups have ramped up efforts to criminalise the Bible. They repeatedly blame the Church for attacks on LGBTQ citizens without evidence. They claim, “Pastors’ have blood on their hands” – demanding the urgent passing of the draconian “Hate Crimes Bill.”
We have a strategy to stop them in their tracks. But we need your prayers and partnership to expose and defeat these and other attacks against our Biblical values and freedoms. Your support helps us fight for your values where it matters most.
