Our recent 11 Gospel campaigns in Zambia felt like a whirlwind tour of an entire nation. I preached in a new location every day, and sometimes it took all day just to get to the place I was preaching in! But for the many guest evangelists who were responsible for the campaigns, it was completely different. They had the joy – and the responsibility – of preaching the Gospel on four out of five nights of the campaign in each place, working closely with the local churches and campaign directors.
Witnessing the Decade of Double Harvest
Now here comes what I think is the most wonderful and exciting thing about witnessing the Decade of Double Harvest… Do you think that there were more miracles on the nights when I preached, compared to when the guest evangelists spoke? Did more people get saved on the nights when it was my turn? Would you perhaps expect that each place would have four small meetings and one big one, when I was in town?
Jesus is the One who saves
I think that’s what most people would imagine in this “celebrity” era. But here’s the thing – Daniel Kolenda cannot heal, save, or deliver. There is only one Name in heaven and on earth with power to save – Jesus! So it didn’t matter which night I was at each venue. It didn’t matter whether it was the start, the middle, or the end of the Gospel campaign there. In every place, Jesus took centre-stage. And today, I want to share with you some of the many miracle testimonies that poured in from the “other” 50 nights, the nights carried by the incredible teams of trained evangelists who gave their all.
This two-year-old toddler had a tumour the size of an apple growing on his head. During the prayer for the sick, the lump visibly deflated, leaving only loose skin.
This 23-year-old man, Humphrey Style, was in constant back pain, could not walk properly, and certainly not work out. God healed him while he was on his way to the campaign! Overflowing with joy, he did pushups onstage to show his newfound strength and freedom.
This 7-year-old boy who had a disability stood up and walked for the first time in his life! His aunt, who took him to the campaign, brought him to the platform and testified of the miracle-working power of God.
A young girl whose side was covered with scars from failed surgeries was able to raise her arm for the first time and will now be able to care for herself without help.
Emanuel had been in pain for a year and had to use crutches for two months. But during the
prayer for the sick, he “felt something go through his feet”. Suddenly all pain was gone!
Straight after the campaign ended, Rev. Ephraim Kambanji (a pastor involved in the campaign) shared, “We went to open a branch in one of the rural towns and the first day, we had 126 people give their lives to Jesus. Many people got healed instantly that night and even a witchdoctor gave his life to Jesus. Then the number continued growing as people kept coming for prayers and at the end the numbers of those attending tripled. We have opened two cell groups out of the decision cards that were collected during the campaign.”
