“All I can do is pray that God will provide a way for him to hear the truth one day.”
A young mother named Rini is a faithful listener of our partner ministries’ radio station, Heartline FM in Indonesia. She works with her husband as a custodian and caretaker at a school. Unlike her husband, Rini is a Christian. This is her story, which we received from our team in Indonesia.
The couple have two teenage sons, but due to financial difficulties, one of them lives with Rini’s father-in-law, who is a devout Muslim. It troubles Rini that one of her sons is being raised in a strict Islamic environment. She feels powerless to change the situation. Facing a desperate situation for her son to come to know Christ, all she can do is pray and trust that God will change her son’s heart.
Sharing in her cares
Rini has not been able to attend church for a while. As an alternative, she listens to our Christian radio programmes every day. “This is how I have gotten to know the Word of God,” Rini explained.
One day, Rini called one of our studios in Indonesia and shared some of her concerns about her marriage and spiritual life with the team. After hearing her story, the station’s counselling team went to visit and offered her a much-needed gift of groceries.
“I am so blessed by your programmes,” Rini told our team. “I listen to your programmes every evening and sometimes until late at night. Your broadcasts strengthen my faith in the Lord. In fact, they have helped me remain firm in my faith in spite of my difficult circumstances.”

Mission to reach more than 500 000 listeners in Indonesia
Our partner ministry, FEBC Indonesia, broadcasts the Gospel throughout the entire country – even in the least accessible areas. This project is called “MORE” which stands for “Mission Outreach Radio Expansion”, with the mission to reach “More than 500 000 listeners”. This project is co-ordinated through their relationship with a network of more than 100 Christian and public radio stations. FEBC Indonesia’s programmes are a blessing to their listeners and is bringing the hope and love of Christ to thousands.
Community upliftment and per-evangelism
FEBC Indonesia’s Gospel programmes are broadcast in Indonesian and six other minority ethnic languages, namely: Javanese, Sasaknese, Minangnese, Buginese, Makassarese, and Sundanese. Their programmes also include pre-evangelistic and community upliftment content.
Help to protect the future of children
One of their most popular programmes focuses on children. The programme aims to help protect the future of Indonesian children from dropping out of school, and committing or falling victim to physical violence — that includes sexual abuse, paedophilia, drug addiction, and so on.
Children in Indonesia are especially vulnerable
The programme’s message emphasises the importance of protecting and raising children well, so that they are equipped for the future. Many children in Indonesia face serious hardship after dropping out of school due to the lack of funds. There are also countless children who undergo severe physical and verbal abuse. Because of this, and many other challenges, children’s dreams are shattered and they fall into bad relationships that destroy their lives.
Spiritual and practical help
Our ministry in Indonesia is committed to help inform and equip listeners (especially parents) to properly care for their children, while at the same time present them with opportunities that will help them build their future and achieve their dreams. They do this through offering scholarships, counselling for parents and children, and through informative radio and internet broadcasts.
