The final stage of CfaN’s Evangelism Bootcamp this year was the graduates’ Initiation Trip to Tanzania, where they spent a minimum of 3 weeks in constant ministry, doing outreaches in every possible location. They also joined in the efforts of our campaign preparation teams, working night and day to set up the five Decapolis campaigns in Tanzania from 12 – 22 November. Here are some of the powerful testimonies that blessed us from the Bootcamp Initiation trip…

Hit by the power of God
As we were sharing the Gospel and praying for people, an older gentleman came over to us. Our interpreter said that the man was partly blind and had pain in one leg. My teammate prayed for him and he was not healed. We were about to leave when the Holy Spirit spoke to me about the blind man on the side of the road who shouted out, “Jesus, Son of David!” two times and was healed by Jesus. I shared that story with the older man. I told him the same Jesus who healed that blind man is the same Jesus who is here to heal you. When I covered both his eyes with my hands, I had him cry out, “Jesus, son of David!” two times.
He was shot backwards by the Holy Spirit and landed on the dirt road – dust flew up where he landed. He lay there with his eyes closed, not moving at all. My first thought was, ‘I hope he is still alive’, as he was not moving. I went over and grabbed his hand and pulled him up. We walked back and forth, thanking Jesus that he could now see. All kinds of people circled us. I told my teammate to preach the Gospel to them and he did. There were 27 salvations there and many more healings. – Bill Ferguson

Jesus comes for the one
It was a hot and dry Saturday out in the Tanzanian bush as our group of four were out visiting boarding schools to preach the Gospel. As we arrived at one of the schools through a large gate, a group of students showed up behind us mentioning they came from another school to play sports. After some small talk, we started talking about Jesus. I asked if any of them had a relationship with Jesus and they all appeared to respond with yes. I then shared about the importance of telling others about Jesus.
Afterwards one of the students began practicing witnessing on one of his friends. Later I said, “Now ask him if he wants to have a relationship with Jesus”. As he stumbled on what to say, I took over and began preaching the Gospel to everyone, ending with, “If you want a relationship with Jesus raise your hand”. After praying I asked, “Was this anyone’s first time doing that?” and to my surprise, one of the quietest in the group, a young man named Kendrick, raised his hand. He shared that he had never given his life to Christ until today. Shortly after this, we found out we wouldn’t be preaching at this school today due to a scheduling issue. As we drove away, I realised our arrival there was not for the crowd, but for the one. – Paul Pemberton

A word of knowledge
God had a divine plan of encountering this woman. That morning before we went to the market, we prayed. I heard a few words: ‘left eye’, ‘knee pain’, and the name Moriah. I was not feeling anything crazy and I honestly doubted that I had just heard the Voice of God. But in faith I wrote down what I heard and put the note in my pocket.

We finally got to the markets and were praying for people, seeing healing and salvations. God was on the move. In one place I asked the owner of the shop if she knew anyone named Moriah. She told me her daughter’s name was Moriah, but that she had passed away. I asked if she knew anyone else of that name? And she said, “Yes, an old lady rents from me with that name as well!” So, she told a kid to take us to her. On the way I was honestly still in doubt. Could this be the woman God wanted to encounter today? After a 10-minute walk, we finally came to a house of mud and sticks. An old woman sat outside and as we got closer, I could see her left eye was cloudy! Right away, faith grew and I knew we had found the right woman and God was about to do something amazing.

We explained what happened and how we came to her. She said Moriah was her name, and that she was blind in her left eye and her knees were very badly in pain. We witnessed her literally pick up her knees with her hands to be able to move her legs. We began to pray and after the second time we prayed, her eye opened up! She began to tell me the number of fingers I had up with her left eye. She saw light and could see me at a distance. We prayed more times for her sight to be restored as it was still a little blurry at a distance, but it got better. We prayed for her knees to be healed and I asked her to stand up. She pushed our hands away and got up all by herself, completely pain free! The love of God for this woman completely amazed me – that God had planned to heal Moriah that day and led us right to her. – Devin Barrett
