It is concerning to see the shift in the abortion advocate movement the last few years. No longer arguing ‘choice’. Now:
- Oppose conscientious objection for doctors and nurses.
- Support unlawful harassment, vandalism of pro-life activism
- Wish to ban the pro-life movement from university campuses
- Wish to ban pregnancy centres helping women
- Support abortion right up to birth and some support killing unwanted babies after birth.
- Oppose free speech on anything but their own view.
- Now seldom argue ‘When does life begin’ or ‘personhood’. Just argue: My rights trump the baby’s rights.
- Support forcible imposition of legal abortion internationally over-riding democracy, using United Nations & aid as a lever.
- You never hear of ‘hard case’ arguments like handicapped unborn baby or dire circumstances of mother anymore. Don’t feel they need any special motivation.
- Oppose giving mothers ultrasounds or waiting periods, information on alternatives or any obstacle to killing as many babies as possible.
We could compare the shift, with the behaviour of a man in an adulterous affair, who in the early stages tries to keep it secret, but eventually loses shame and is open about the affair and abandons his family. Abortion advocates were simply in denial about the humanity of the unborn and masked their actions behind the rhetoric of freedom. Now they just lose all shame.
In South Africa, there is an activist working full time paid by British abortionists organising this shift. Whenever we see evidence of the shift, her name pops up.
