With Israel facing massacres, kidnappings, and war, many have put aside political differences to unite at Jerusalem’s Western Wall to pray for the Jewish nation.

Video reviewed by Worthy News showed that thousands came to pray “for the safe return of hostages” held in Gaza and for the victory of Israel’s army and other security forces in the war against Hamas.

The emotional recitation of Psalms and prayers “for the safety and triumph of the Israel Defense Forces” and the nation resonated from the Temple Mount as people stood near the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Avichai Brodtz, whose wife and three children were kidnapped and taken to Gaza by Hamas gunmen, and Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Western Wall, were among those praying.

The prayers came as Israeli forces stepped up the war against Hamas, seen as a terrorist group by Israel and most Western countries, which killed 1,400 people in Israel on October 7.

Thousands more were injured in the worst attack against Jews since the Holocaust, also known as the Shoah.

Israeli police have restricted Palestinian Muslims from praying at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the Old City of Jerusalem after the Hamas assault on southern Israel on October 7, citing fears of riots and attacks.
