President Cyril Ramaphosa’s testimony at the State Capture Inquiry followed explosive revelations from former Finance Minister, Malusi Gigaba’s estranged wife, Norma Mngoma and former Free State MEC and ANC MP, Mosebenzi Zwane during the last week of April.

Norma Ngoma’s six-hour testimony exposed the extent of the Gupta crime family’s control of the ANC and by implication, their capture and manipulation of South Africa’s governing authority which included the hiring and firing of cabinet ministers, dispensing bags of cash to senior ANC officials and influencing the procurement policies of State-Owned Enterprises.

Former Free State MEC, Mosebenzi Zwane is implicated in massive corruption along with embattled ANC Secretary General and former Free State premier, Ace Magashule which include the Estina Dairy Farm scandal and a R1 billion low-cost housing project. Incredibly, Zwane admitted “he hitched a ride on a Gupta private jet because he lost his voice.”

During his testimony, President Ramaphosa acknowledged the rot in the ANC, the staggering rates of corruption, fraud and theft of public funds and the destructive consequences of the governing party’s cadre deployment policy. Mr Ramaphosa admitted, “with the benefit of hindsight we could have done better.” His presidency, however, allows him to do better.

The deadline for Ace Magashule and other ANC officials charged with corruption to “step aside” from their positions have come and gone. The ANC NEC are scheduled to meet on 8 May to discuss the next course of action. The ANC appear to be less tolerant of officials that defy the party code of conduct – like former North-West premier, Supra Mahumapelo – than those implicated in massive corruption, fraud and the theft of billions from state coffers.

Thankfully, time is running out for the criminals finding refuge in the governing party. The net appears to be closing around the Gupta crime family as well. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is reportedly finalizing several high-profile prosecutions. South Africa may soon experience its own ‘Nuremberg Trials’ where corrupt State officials will face justice.

Even more explosive than the Zondo Comission testimony is the revelations contained in the “Eskom Files.” Investigations by the SIU revealed mind boggling corruption within the state utility worth more than R178 billion. It also reveals how senior Eskom executives tried to shut down the investigation. The power utility is crippled by R411 billion debt that brought the country to the brink of economic collapse – due mainly to rampant corruption.

If you believe in the sovereign rule of God, now is a good time to intercede for South Africa. What we are currently witnessing is answer to prayer. Millions of believers have cried out to God to intervene in our nation, expose the corrupt and rescue South Africa.

Everything that is hidden will be exposed to the light. The ANC has misused the power and authority of the State to not only facilitate the unrestrained plundering of billions of public funds, it also hollowed out the prosecutorial authorities and law-enforcement agencies to protect the criminals within its ranks. ANC factions are fighting to maintain the status quo.

The Zondo Commission testimony, the Eskom Files and investigations from the Hawks, the Special Investigative Unit (SIU), and others have revealed a litany of corruption, fraud and theft of unimaginable scale. A powerful faction within the ANC is fighting tooth and nail to keep these revelations under wraps to evade prosecution and certain imprisonment.

You and I must continue to fervently pray that God will expose all that is hidden and that the wicked will face the full weight of justice. We must also pray that God will uproot the corrupt so we can elect competent men and women of integrity to govern righteously.

The Municipal Elections scheduled for 27 October 2021 and the General Elections in 2024 will provide voters a first time opportunity to directly elect competent independent candidates of integrity that are not aligned to and controlled by corrupt political party bosses.

The new ‘Electoral Act’ may be an Act of God’s mercy providing South African voters a way out of a political nightmare of its own making. We must also pray that spiritual leaders will possess the faith and courage to inspire citizens to do what is right for the nation and not what is convenient for the moment. Pray, Vote, Stand – it’s in (y)our hands.
