A Bill introduced by US Representative, Greg Steube in the US Congress would suspend direct assistance to South Africa and impose targeted sanctions on political leaders. The Bill targets political leaders and their governments for antagonism to the US and its allies.
“Addressing Hostile and Antisemitic Conduct by the Republic of South Africa Act of 2025,” was tabled in the US House of Representatives on 17 June. The Bill will sanction political leaders who unfairly target the State of Israel or Jewish individuals in International Courts.
It also targets politicians that “engage in gross corruption, including the misuse of foreign aid or public funds.” Rep Steube’s Bill follows a similar one introduced by Rep Ronny Jackson in April which called for a review of bilateral relations between the US and SA.
US pressure on the ANC led government is intensifying. The Bills introduced in the US Congress follows revelations the Trump administration outlined demands to finalise a trade deal with SA to ensure it avoids the 31% tariffs when the pause expires on 9 July.
However, President Ramaphosa received a letter from Donald Trump on 7 July indicating a 30% tariff will be imposed on all SA goods exported to the US – effective 1 August 2025.
The Trump admin demands the SA government (1) prioritise farm murders as a key crime concern, (2) condemn the “kill the boer” chant, (3) ensure expropriation of land aligns with market norms and (4) exempts US companies from BEE requirements in South Africa.
It appears diplomatic and economic pressures on the Ramaphosa administration may compel the policy changes South Africa requires to boost its political and economic fortunes. The ANC criminal enterprise must be forced to change course or face ruin.
The Trump administration will host five African leaders at the White House 9 – 11 July to discuss economic opportunities in the nations of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania and Senegal. It follows the US–Africa Business Summit held in Angola in June.
The Ramaphosa administrations’ Marxist policies increasingly puts it at odds with the US government. Donald Trump has threatened to impose an extra 10% tariff on countries who align with the BRICS bloc. Trump accused BRICS of formulating anti-American policies.
President Ramaphosa and his corrupt and failed ANC regime is on a collision course with the US government. The ANC’s racist laws, facilitation of staggering corruption in SA, and links with authoritarian regimes like China, Russia, Iran and Cuba make it a rogue entity.
Ramaphosa appears to have lost control of his cabinet. ANC ministers are regularly exposed for fraud and corruption. The latest crisis involves KZN Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi accusing Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu of links to organised crime.
Ramaphosa and the ANC has transformed SA into a mafia state where organised crime flourishes. ANC official’s links to underworld figures is nothing new. Tender fraud is the primary method of enriching the political elite – and by implication the politically connected.
The Trump admins demands for SA to secure a trade deal may alter some of the ANC’s more egregious policies. However, we must pray the Steube Bill will be passed by the US Congress and signed into law – because it targets political leaders directly for corruption.
The ANC will not stop looting taxpayer funds because there is no real deterrence. The staggering levels of poverty, joblessness and misery of mainly black citizens does not convict the ANC. So external pressure must be brought to bear on this criminal enterprise.
Ramaphosa’s administration is out in the cold. Many African nations are benefitting from US trade deals. SA can benefit too if the government reforms its economy-killing policies to make investment more attractive – to spur growth. Time is running out for the ANC.

Thank you for the information Need as nuch pressure on ANC as possible
The US is a corruptocracy and one of the most corrupt countries in the world. The US’s attack on any country or court that dares to criticize or sanction Israel is a direct result of that corruption, committed through AIPAC, among others. Trump halted prosecution of firms accused of bribery abroad, struck down the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act which was a great help in South Africa’s fight against state capture. He has shut down numerous corruption watchdogs in numerous state agencies and accepted massive bribes himself. He set up cryptocurrency for himself and his wife in order to accept secret payments.
As for antisemitism, that’s a bit rich coming from a white supremacist country defending and arming an Israel that is, by it’s own Nation-State Law of 2018, a racist state. Zionism is *by definition* racist because it allocates rights and privileges based on ethnicity.
