Family Policy Institute (FPI) has been fighting on the frontlines of the battle for faith, family, and freedom for 17 years. We thank God for His grace & guidance. We also thank our faithful partners for their prayers & financial support.

On 2 Jan, the SABC invited me to participate in a live TV interview to comment on the teen pregnancy crisis in South Africa. Several teens including a 12-year-old gave birth on New Years Day. I linked the teen pregnancy crisis to broken and fatherless homes in SA.

Following the TV interview, the SABC issued a news alert highlighting my argument that dysfunctional and fatherless homes, in particular, fuel the teen pregnancy crisis. I was invited onto several live radio interviews to discuss the reasons for family breakdown.

If the first few days of 2025 is anything to go by, the new year promises to be filled with unique opportunities to defend and protect the natural family and promote Biblical values in Parliament, the media and general society. FPI’s international work also holds promise.

I have hit the ground running. There is much work to do to defend, protect and promote faith, family, and freedom in South Africa. FPI is preparing to mobilize citizens to oppose the “Single Marriage Bill” that seeks to radically redefine man, woman marriage in law.

Parliament’s ‘Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs’ will host public hearings around the country soon on the gender-neutral “Single Marriage Bill.” I will launch a social media campaign to inform & educate citizens about the dangers of this Bill and how to oppose it.

Significantly, the ANC cannot pass this Bill in Parliament without the support of its partners in the Government of National Unity (GNU). Citizens must therefore send a clear message that redefining man, woman marriage to appease sexual rights radicals is unacceptable.

Donald Trump’s inauguration on 20 January will signal a seismic shift in the global ideological landscape. Family values and parental rights will again move into focus. Trump promised to restore the rights and authority of parents over their children’s education choices. Sexual rights radicals and UN agencies pushing CSE will lose momentum.

The decisive policy changes in the US and by implication, the UN will reverberate around the world. This will provide FPI the impetus it needs to expose the propaganda embedded in “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) – to specifically bypass parental authority and indoctrinate innocent children in the public schooling system.

I serve on the board of the “African Christian Professionals Forum” (ACPF). We’re planning a major pro-family conference in Nairobi, Kenya in May 2025. This event will draw pro-family orgs, lawmakers, Church leaders, and youth groups from the Continent of Africa to strategize with international allies to defend and promote faith, family, and freedom.

FPI will face many challenges in 2025 in the battle to defend and protect faith, family, and freedom. We are encouraged by the new opportunities to advance Biblical values in the corridors of power and to amplify the voice of Christian citizens in the formulation of policy.

FPI’s work is vital. But we cannot fight these battles on our own. Thank you for standing with FPI as together, we proclaim Biblical truth in SA.
