“We cannot allow any form of fear to control South Africa.”
My friends and fellow South Africans, I have a serious and an important message on my heart to share with you. My family and I travelled from Umhlanga back to Bloemfontein and we saw the ravages of the damages along the road. We saw trucks that have been burnt, we saw how the roads were damaged and as we went further through the Free State, we saw many farms burning, veld fires in lots of places. The seriousness of where our country is, is setting in.
Strategy of the enemy
I prayed and came before the Lord. I realise we are at a very, very critical point where we cannot allow any form of fear to control South Africa. Because that’s exactly the strategy of the enemy – to cause havoc, to let fear and chaos reign so that people give in and lose hope. They lose their faith; they lose whatever trust they have in anything in South Africa.
My message is to counter that in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a man of faith I’m calling on you as South Africans, as people of faith in South Africa, to stand on your faith. What we are seeing is devastating to the economy. I am an economist myself. From an economic point of view we were in trouble even before the lockdown, then the lockdown came, taking as deeper into trouble. Now the looting and the crisis happening all across South Africa are costing us millions. So the severity of the situation is important to take note of, but our response is even more critical.
Our reaction to the situation
We cannot allow fear to dictate the situation. It’s important. It is important to stay calm, to be in a position where we anchor ourselves in the Lord Jesus Christ. By Faith alone – listen to me— by Faith alone we will be able to conquer the situation. Yes, we are all a stunned by this: can things degrade and collapse to such a level? Even though we see Justice being served with president Zuma going to jail.
God is exposing evil
So, this is the moment when God is exposing something very important in our country. He is exposing the areas and the streams of people through which evil flourishes in the nation. We need to pray for the exposure of evil in South Africa like never before. This snake is really lifting its head
1. Speak life
People of God we are calling on you to now stand up in faith, take the Word of God and proclaim it in your prayer time, in your time with your family, in your discussions with your friends, in your WhatsApp messages, in your online communication. We are calling on you to speak life over South Africa. I’m telling you, if we keep speaking death that’s what we’ll get. Because our words have power. So this is my first call to you, be sensitive about the words that you use and be intentional about speaking life over South Africa. Those that you see on the news that are looting, don’t just watch them, pray for them! Don’t just observe the problems, pray over them. Speak life in the name of Jesus.
And let me emphasize Jesus, because there’s no other hope than the Lord Jesus Christ for South Africa. This is my plea to you today, call on the Lord, like never before. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone and unless He is the cornerstone in South Africa, we labour-in-vain. Because unless the Lord builds the house those who build, labour in vain.
2. Become a prayer warrior
The second thing is to become a prayer warrior like never before. Speak God’s words over this nation in your prayer life. Pray and intercede, standing in the gap for our nation. 1 Peter 2:9 says that we are at kingly priesthood. We are priests of the living God and are called to stand in the gap. The enemy is ready to destroy South Africa.
Please become a praying nation and pray like never. Take verses from the Bible and pray them aloud. Become a prayer warrior. Speak life over the nation and become a prayer warrior
3. Excercise your faith
Thirdly I received a word of the Lord for South Africa. Every South African need to hear these words and then respond to Him. Hebrews 13:35-39, “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who draw back to [o]perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.”
I believe the Lord wants you to speak these words wherever you go out: God will save South Africa. In your family time, when you pray, when you are eating together, when you send messages on WhatsApp call always add these words: God will save South Africa.
I want you to speak these words and release them as prophetic words across South Africa. God will save South Africa because what we believe, will be put into action. This is the power of faith. God’s Word, the very life of God, is that which wells up on the inside. Jesus said living Waters will flow out of you. So I’m saying, use your words to proclaim that God will save South Africa.
Pray for the leaders of our country. Also pray for those who are causing the looting and violence. Do not keep on judging them and saying this and that about them. No. Do not allow racism to set in our minds. This is not a time for division. We know the enemy’s tactic is to divide and rule. Let us unite in Christ. Let us allow our life to set this nation free, because the truth comes through the life that we speak and the life that we live. This is the response that God’s people in a time of crisis. This is how God will release and set free and fulfil his promises exactly as the Scripture says.
