#UnbornBabiesLivesMatter

Nations all over the world have witnessed a break out of peaceful protests as well as violent demonstrations that are a result of individual systemic and institutionalised racism. The Black Lives Matter group has gained prominence during this time, even though their true agenda is highly questionable. As people march globally in protest to stop the killings and murder of the black race, let us not forget the lives of unborn babies.

Internationally
Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion clinic in the world. They make billions of dollars every year by selling the body parts of aborted babies which are used for cosmetic surgery and other similar uses. For more information, watch the movie Unplanned.

Human Rights or Human Wrongs?
The United Nations is supposed to be the poster child for human rights, yet they are proponents and advocates for abortion. In fact one of their main sponsors is the mega abortion clinic Planned Parenthood. One of the core and fundamental human rights is the right to life. How then, does one claim to be standing for “human rights” when they advocate for innocent lives to be taken away in the most brutal fashion?

Murder of innocent babies will never be a human right and will always be a human wrong.
Pro-abortionists defend abortion as a human right by saying that women have a right to do what they want to do with their bodies. In first year law school, we were taught that there are no absolute rights. A person may have a right to listen to their radio, but that right must not infringe on another person’s right to privacy. Rights must be balanced. A woman, therefore, may have a right to her body, but that right must never infringe on an innocent baby’s right to live. Rights must be weighed and balanced and no one in their right frame of mind can ever claim that one’s right to one’s body outweighs a right to live.

South Africa and abortion
On December 11, 1996, South Africa enacted the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Act. This Act gives women of any age or marital status access to abortion services upon request during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and in certain cases, extends access to the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. Currently in South Africa, children are legally barred from drinking alcohol and from driving cars until they are 18.

Currently in South Africa, children between 12-14 years are being granted abortions, many of them without their parents’ knowledge. These are not “women” as the Act states, but children! How does any responsible nation allow any child to undergo a physically threatening and emotionally traumatizing act like abortion?

Current legislation even irresponsibly permits children to do so in the absence of their parents’ permission. In 2018 alone, it was estimated that there were around 260,000 abortions in our country.

The Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Act must once again be challenged in the Constitutional Court on the basis that it violates the right to life in section 11 of the Bill of Rights in the South African Constitution. How can the same section 11 that has been interpreted to prohibit the death penalty for adults be the same section that allows the death penalty for unborn babies? This is a contradiction in terms.

Spiritual implications of abortion
There are many scriptures that talk about the shedding of innocent blood. Proverbs 6:6-19 mentions the shedding of innocent blood as one of the seven things God hates! John 10:10 tells us that Yashua came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. May that life also be extended to the unborn!

It is interesting to note that advocates of abortion were themselves extended the gift of life. Is it not the height of hypocrisy to advocate for someone to be denied the right of life, when you yourself are enjoying that same right?

Adoption, not abortion
It takes a lot to raise a child and one must be emotionally and financially prepared for this. Not everybody is ready to take care of a baby and this is understandable. For those who are not ready, be encouraged to know that there are millions of couples globally who are struggling with infertility and are ready and desperate for an opportunity to raise up a baby. Instead of resorting to abortion, why not resort to giving up that precious baby for adoption?

There are others too, who may not be struggling with infertility, but also have a great capacity to love, nurture, and raise children. Let them also be given a chance to adopt those babies!

Preparing for Revival
There are spiritual implications attached to the spilling of blood. As we prepare for revival, let us repent for the killing of all unborn babies and continue to pray for forgiveness, God’s mercy and for revival in the land.

  1. Very well written article and very inspiring. Remember also the various warnings in the Word of God regarding the consequences of shedding innocent blood. Thumps up to Joy! News for providing a platform and supporting pro life views. Of all S.A. failures, abortion is without doubt the biggest one. Without the right to life, all other rights are meaningless.

  2. wow so touching, truth be told…..may God have mercy on us.
