We will be proclaiming the Gospel from 2-16 November across Cape Town, from the streets to schools, and prisons to parliament. We will also be having three big festival events (free entrance) in Mitchells Plain (Westridge Gardens), Khayelitsha (Mandela Park), and the CBD (Grand Parade). The whole family is invited!
Dear Friends, Our cities are a rapidly growing mission field! Urbanisation is a global trend, and although Africa is currently lagging behind the global urbanisation curve, it is set to grow significantly from its 2010 figure of 36% to a projected 60% by 2050.

Christians must prioritise synergy
This trend comes with tremendous challenges for employment and infrastructure, but also exciting opportunities for evangelism and African Enterprise (AE). As bearers of Gospel truth in the cities of Africa, we are excited because our audience is growing! At the same time, the magnitude of the task at hand is also growing and increasingly daunting. The Body of Christ therefore needs to prioritise synergy in order to fulfil the Great Commission. It is thus reassuring to witness the church moving closer towards the oneness that Jesus prayed for, “Father…as You are in me and I am in You…may they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent me.” – John 17:21
Love Cape Town CityFest
We are currently busy with preparation for our Love Cape Town CityFest mission. We are working in partnership with the Church in Cape Town, including numerous denominations from across the city, as well as various other Christian organisations, such as the Luis Palau Association. The vision for this mission to Cape Town was birthed in prayer by the African Enterprise leadership team in 2017, and confirmed by key Christian leaders who we spoke to in Cape Town during 2018.
Partnership with Luis Palau
We engaged the Luis Palau team in the conversation early last year, and there was immediately an excitement and resonance, and it wasn’t long before their Africa Missions Director, Tim Innes, was on the ground with me in Cape Town! Our organisations (AE and Luis Palau) have a very similar mandate and methodology, and our founders, Michael Cassidy and Luis Palau, are friends. Cape Town is the first time that our organisations are partnering in a mission, and we believe that together we can make a significant impact in the Mother City!
Hardworking helpers
We are truly blessed to be working with the many gifted and committed men and women who make up our Love Cape Town CityFest mission committees. No AE mission would have been nearly as successful without the guidance and hard work of faithful local committee members. The Bible teaches that “by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counsellors there is victory.” – Proverbs 24:6
Three phases of planning
Our mission timeline has three phases, firstly, the ‘Preparation’ phase, which could begin up to two years before the mission, starting with the mapping of the mission field. Then the ‘Proclamation’ phase, which is essentially our mission week of stratified evangelism. And finally, the ‘Preservation’ phase, which includes the following-up of the new believers and their assimilation into nurture groups and the local churches.
Please consider donating
In closing, please allow me the opportunity to appeal for your financial support towards our Cape Town mission. Please prayerfully consider a special financial gift designated for Cape Town. We would be so grateful! “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” – Galatians 6:9
Together we can!
Get on board!
We are still trusting for more churches, organisations, and individuals to join forces for the Love Cape Town CityFest mission. Please email info@lovecapetown.org or visit lovecapetown.org to get on board. Please also join us in praying for the Lord to continue with His amazing work in Cape Town, and for us, as we prepare for what we trust will be a truly impactful and historic mission there in November.
