Opinion piece by Errol Naidoo; Family Policy Institute

Family Policy Institute (FPI) was established in October 2007 but launched operationally on 7 July 2008. FPI has led the battle to defend, protect and promote biblical values in South Africa for the past 18 years. The fight for faith, family and freedom remains critical.

Marriage between a man and a woman is under intense assault by a corrupt government driven by a bankrupt ideology rather than common sense. The natural family is fighting for survival in a culture that favours individual “rights” and demands over the common good.

FPI remained steadfast on the frontlines of the battle for faith, family and freedom for almost 20 years because marriage, the family and civil freedoms are foundational to a just, free and prosperous nation. We work to amplify the voice of the Christian community in SA.

FPI fought to end blasphemy in the media, exposed the “gay capital” agenda in Cape Town, defeated 24 hour porn channel launch, in SA, stopped legalised prostitution for the 2010 World Cup and defended Christians being attacked for their beliefs and convictions.

I am therefore deeply grateful to God for His guidance, wisdom and provision that enabled us to faithfully serve His people for 18 years. Arlene and I are also grateful to our friends and partners in this vital ministry. Without your loyal partnership we cannot do what we do.

We have fought many formidable battles for faith, family and freedom over the past years. Significantly, however, the attacks on marriage, the family, the innocence of children, parental rights and religious freedoms have intensified – not subsided since 2007.

The ANC’s ideological quest to redefine man, woman marriage in law, indoctrinate children in schools, legalise the entire sex-industry in SA and eradicate religious freedoms by capturing and regulating the Christian Church – continues without significant push back.

FPI’s work over the next few months has become critical. We desperately need to increase our monthly partnerships to ensure we remain in the fight to protect biblical values in SA. If you have not done so, please consider a monthly contribution of any amount to FPI.

Your prayers and monthly financial partnership help FPI fight for your values where it matters most. The anti-family radicals we fight daily are well financed. FPI depends entirely on your generous support to defend and protect faith, family, freedom and justice in SA.

I am also a founding member and Director of “Rescue SA Civil Rights Alliance” (RSACRA). The Non-Profit-Company was established in 2025 to uphold the constitutional rights of citizens by holding politicians accountable in courts of law for crimes against the people.

On 19 May, RSACRA lodged its first application against the ANC led government – challenging the constitutionality of race-based laws – at the North Gauteng High Court. If successful, it will fundamentally change the way BBEEE laws are implemented in SA.

You can view RSACRA’s Notice of Motion here received by the High Court of SA Gauteng Division, Pretoria on 25 May. You can also read the 2-page Media Briefing Summary here.

RSACRA’s application challenging the constitutionality of race-based laws in South Africa sues President Cyril Ramaphosa and 16 other government officials (respondents). Ramaphosa and his ministers have indicated they will oppose the matter in the High Court.

Several prominent organisations indicated their intention to join RSACRA’s case as amicus curiae (friend of the court). Most analysts believe this case is long overdue. Apartheid style race classification has no legal basis in SA law. The ANC uses it to deny certain racial groups access to the economy and loot tax-payer money under the guise of BBEEE.

Advocate Mark Oppenheimer, a constitutional law expert, will argue this case in the High Court. Significantly, it will not stop redressing injustices of the past but will ensure previously disadvantaged citizens will be genuinely uplifted – not exploited to enrich a few.

Ramaphosa and his ministers will use tax-payer money to defend these unjust laws. RSACRA must raise the funding to fight this – and the other cases being finalised – all the way to the Constitutional Court. The Alliance will challenge the water crisis in court next.

RSACRA is hosting its first information session for business people in Cape Town on 4 Aug. We have invited business leaders to partner with this critical cause. Speakers include, Adv Mark Oppenheimer, businessman, Rob Hersov, economist Dawie Roodt and others.

Please include Family Policy Institute and Rescue SA Civil Rights Alliance in your prayers. My work in both organisations is vital for faith, family, religious freedoms and justice in SA.
