According to local sources, a 3-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan was raped at a school in the Raiwind neighborhood of Lahore. This report comes less than a month after a similar incident involving an 8-year-old Christian girl was reported in June.

On July 24, Anna Chand, age 3, was raped by Muhammad Saleem, a Muslim staff member at a school in the Raiwind neighborhood of Lahore. According to the First Information Report (FIR # 2224/21) registered at the local police station, Anna was assaulted while at school with her brother.

After the study hours ended in the school, Saleem, the school’s physical instructor, asked Anna’s brother to go out to play and took Anna to a classroom,” Chand Masih, Anna’s father, told International Christian Concern (ICC). “Saleem raped her in the classroom, and we noticed blood stains on her cloths when she reached home and was crying.

Anna’s parents rushed her to the local hospital for medical treatment. There the rape was confirmed by medical examination and Anna’s family has filed a complaint with local police.

According to local sources, the school’s administration, and Saleem, are pressuring Anna’s family to settle the matter out of court. In similar situations, threats and intimidation are used to force Christians into unfair compromises outside of Pakistan’s judicial system.

On June 22, a similar incident was reported from another school in Lahore. In that case, an 8-year-old Christian girl was raped by a Muslim teacher.
