“As Samuel grew up, the Lord was with him, and everything Samuel said proved to be reliable.” – 1 Samuel 3:19
I came upon the Scripture above recently and pondered on it for a while. What stood out for me was that “everything Samuel said proved to be reliable”. I am sure we would all want that to be said about us. What a noble characteristic and testament to one’s reputation and faith.
It reminded me once again that we don’t need to be confused, doubtful, or double-minded when facing decisions. We need to trust and get our answers from the Word. Jesus has always been – and still is – the answer to all our choices, concerns, and troubles. We just need to involve Him in every situation.
Bring everything to Him
I recognise that this may be difficult for some, as not every Christian has been taught what “full surrender” means – a total submission to God in every area of our lives. Some may even feel like they are wasting the Lord’s time by bringing Him trivial requests. If this is you, please never feel that way.
Childlike faith
I am so grateful for the mentors, pastors, and spiritual teachers who, from a young age, impressed upon me the importance of childlike faith – and to ask and involve Jesus in absolutely everything. It’s not surprising then that I’ve experienced His wisdom and joy in the most unusual and unlikely situations. My book of testimonies isn’t only filled with “major” miracles, but also hundreds of minor ones – and they’ve all helped to build solid faith.
I too hope that it may one day be said of me that everything I say is reliable, because the Lord has helped me with my decisions.
