“After performing with Joshua Aaron in Cape Town earlier this year, he invited me to play harp with him at his worship conference, “Gather America”, which is taking place on 14-16 September in Dallas, Texas. I will be performing with him on stage while he leads worship for 2,000 people, and I’ll also be hosting a breakout session to encourage people to consider learning to play the harp as an instrument of worship… so exciting!!
Joshua has a vision to gather people of all nations together in one place, with one goal: to worship the Lord! No agenda, no denominations, just a “family reunion” of people who want to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth! As the message of Jesus went out from Israel to all the surrounding nations, now we are coming together to worship Him with pure hearts, as a family of God. It’s SO exciting to be a part of what the Lord is doing!
Joshua told me that he sees harp as an important representation of heavenly worship, so he wants to feature harp during the conference, including a “choir of harps”, just like we see described in Revelation! Similar to this video which went viral on YouTube a while ago.
The harp is a big part of worship throughout the Bible – King David appointed harpists as one of the main instruments to lead the people in bringing worship that is pleasing to the Lord… but today most people have never even seen a harp in worship! Just like King Hezekiah brought back the harp when he restored the temple worship many years after King David’s time, we have a call to do the same!
The Lord has placed a special anointing on the harp – it has the ability to bring his presence and peace in a way that no other instrument can. It’s not a mistake that David played the harp for Saul and the evil spirits fled. That is still happening today! People are using the harp as therapy and the effects are remarkable: blood pressure stabilizes, pain levels decrease and vital signs are improved. It’s been proven to be equally effective as pain medication!
That’s why it’s so important to bring back the harp as an instrument of worship to the Lord. Our aim is to bring this verse to life: “Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. (Psalm 108:2-3)”.
What a privilege to play an instrument of such spiritual significance!”
