Christian private schools stand out by combining outstanding academic achievement with biblical teaching, all while fostering core moral values. Among the remarkable institutions leading this transformative educational journey are Eduplex and the Domino Servite School (DSS). These two schools boast a distinguished heritage of academic excellence, celebrating a 100% IEB-matric pass rate over multiple years, including the stellar Class of 2025. Their students regularly earn distinctions that place them among the top 1% nationally in their subjects, reflecting a commitment to both intellectual rigour and spiritual growth.

Eduplex School in Queenswood, Pretoria, stands out among other private schools in many ways, including its matric results. A total of 59 learners completed matric in 2025. Neda Bakovic was the top performer, achieving an average of 89,14%. Three learners achieved six distinctions (two of whom have hearing disabilities); six had five distinctions; seven had four distinctions; five had three distinctions; six had two distinctions; and a further 15 had one distinction.

This mainstream, parallel-medium school is a world model, not only for its educational programme but also for its design. Its programme aligns with today’s emphasis on inclusion in education, and Eduplex is a leader in this field. Every class includes a small number of children with hearing disabilities to help them acquire everyday spoken language alongside their hearing friends. This ensures that all the children reach a level of language maturity that lays a firm foundation for future success.

Another school that stands out for its unique mission, achievements, and character as a Christian school is the Domino Servite School (DSS) in Kranskop, KwaZulu-Natal. Maintaining its Outstanding reputation and achievements, the Class of 2025 achieved a perfect 100% pass rate, with 52 distinctions (an average of 2,26 per learner); eight learners achieved three or more distinctions. The Class of 2025 is a diverse group representing several countries and language groups. Ludwig McGill and Sofie Schobben each achieved a full complement of distinctions; Anelle Jaeger and Caleb Schmunk each achieved five distinctions.

Respect, responsible citizenship, moral integrity and a Christian lifestyle are central to life at DSS. Its successes can be attributed to close parental and mission involvement, which enriches learners’ spiritual and academic lives and fosters a greater sense of community and purpose. Each learner’s unique needs and learning styles are addressed and extended.

The remarkable success of the two schools outlined above can be attributed to their effective integration of faith-based principles with a strong academic curriculum. These institutions foster a nurturing and supportive community that prioritises the holistic development of each learner. They create an environment where students not only excel academically but also have numerous chances to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and morally.

Students emerge from these schools with a strong sense of confidence and are thoroughly prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. They possess a solid grounding in moral values, which enhances their character development and enables them to navigate the complexities of the world. This emphasis on personal growth, combined with a rigorous educational approach and a commitment to faith-driven ideals, ensures that learners leave with the skills and principles they need to make a positive impact in society.
