Outspoken Christian surfer Filipe Toledo recently shone God’s light at the Corona Open in Jeffreys Bay.

The defending world champ posted the second-highest heat total of the entire 2023 season in his matchup with second-ranked Ethan Ewing.

The 28-year-old Brazilian surfer earned a spot in the World Surf League (WSL) finals.

Commentators on the day highlighted Toledo’s Christian faith which anchors him.

Toledo stands apart in the WSL, often seen praying on his board and honouring his Lord and Saviour.
