The Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) will hold its final Voter Registration weekend on Sat 26 and Sun 27 January 2019 at polling stations countrywide 8am – 5pm.

Judging by the revelations emerging via witness testimony at the State Capture Inquiry – the scale of corruption, fraud and looting of public funds in South Africa is truly mind-boggling.

Incredibly, there are currently three separate Commissions of Inquiry underway investigating massive corruption, theft and gross maladministration in South Africa’s state institutions.

The NPA Inquiry is investigating whether senior officials at the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is fit to hold office following serious allegations of corruption and misconduct. 

During the disastrous Zuma administration, the NPA was hollowed out and transformed into a facilitator of State Capture to further the nefarious goals of the former president and his cohorts.

The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) whose mandate is the investment of up to R2 trillion of public money is being investigated for alleged corruption and maladministration.

The explosive revelations emerging at these various Inquiries are horrific. Witness testimony about BOSASA bribes of several senior government officials corroborates testimony and evidence provided at the State Owned Enterprises (SOE) Inquiry and the numerous Gupta investigations.

The culture of corruption appears to have permeated every sector of South African society. Everybody appears to be on the take. The ANC has transformed SA into a haven of corruption. 

Thankfully however, much of the rot is being exposed. We must thank God that the massive corruption, fraud and maladministration of the Zuma years is finally being exposed.

Incredibly, despite Zuma being fingered as the architect of State Capture and by implication South Africa’s dire financial woes, he received a rapturous welcome at the ANC Manifesto launch in KZN on 8 January. Clearly, the ruling party not only tolerates corruption, it rewards it as well.

You and I can play a significant role in reversing the current trend of corruption, fraud and maladministration in SA. We can elect Godly men and women of integrity into authority.
