With the local government elections approaching, the Church is mandated to facilitate the transition of a new season of governance in our land. When spoken, the power of the Word has inherently transformative properties. As intercessors and prayer warriors, we are to release our swords! Jeremiah lamented: “O thou sword of the Lord, how long will it be ere thou be quiet?” – Jeremiah 47:6. The following are some decrees to release over our nation during this season of new governance:
1. The influence of the Gods of Egypt and the Pharaoh spirit is being cleansed and destroyed in local governments.
The Pharaoh spirit did not die with Pharaoh, and it still desires to rule our governments and provinces. “You boast, ‘We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.’” – Isaiah 28:15
DECREE: Every covenant of death, formed to entrench and establish wicked leaders in their positions, is rendered null and void. These covenants are powerless, they will not fulfil their mandate in these elections.
2. Pray for the Lord to sweep the leaven of unrighteousness and injustice. Pray for the exposure and uprooting of corruption.
“I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down … a flood will sweep it away.” – Isaiah 28:17
DECREE: Righteousness and justice are the plumbline, the refuge of lies is being removed by the flood. The refuge of lies will no longer deceive and blind us.
3. New local governments will move our cities further towards becoming ‘lights in the nation’.
“Herds of camels will cover your land … from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense.” – Isaiah 60:6
DECREE: Commerce in every local government is increasing. New economic / trade relationships are being formed. Our cities are reformed, employment is increasing! Modern day Israel is our plumbline!
