Dr Nico and Mimi Landman, visionary couple behind the Beula Park Conference Centre and Mount Zion facility in Meadowdale, recently celebrated 40 years in full-time ministry. Now, they want to encourage believers that we are at a Kairos moment as the church of Jesus Christ, and that it is time to step up for the Lord, to bring in the harvest.

On 31 May 1982, Dr Nico and Mimi Landman, then in their twenties, stepped up into full-time ministry. Dr Landman explained that at the time he was just 28 years old; and unaware of the adventures and challenges which faced him as a servant of the Lord.

However, looking back, He was now more convinced than ever, of the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He spoke with tears in his eyes to a room filled with ministry and pastoral leaders in the Upper Room of the prayer centre at Mount Zion on the Beula Park premises in Meadowdale.

The address was given as part of a 40th celebration of the Landmans’ service to the Lord. During this 40-year period, the Lord has worked miracles in their lives, and the lives of the countless people impacted by their ministry and faithfulness to the Lord.

One of these miracles has been the formation of the Beula Park Conference Centre, utilised by various congregations of all denominations, and the Mount Zion Prayer Centre, which Dr Landman, visionary of the establishment, said followed a directive from the Sovereign Lord, who explained it as a spiritual Mount Zion, which would draw men, women and children from all tribes, languages, people and nations (Revelation 5:9).

Other momentous achievements birthed through the facility have include the Cross Care Missions Centre, which trains pastoral and ministerial leaders; and the March for Jesus events. These marches have brought Christians from all denominations together in unity, to march forth from the mountain, carrying banners professing faith in the Lord Jesus, and powerfully displaying unity and declaring victory for the Bride.

A week before his address, Dr Landman and his team officially launchedKingdom Vision radio, operating from the Mount Zion prayer room building. “Now more than ever, we must stand in unity against the prevailing evil,” said Dr Landman. “This is a new season for the Body, consolidated under the leadership of One. The Lord is showing the nations, ‘I am in control!’”

The couple’s daughter was born just twelve days after they first stepped up into ministry, on 12 June 1982, and Dr Landman said that he and his family would be travelling to visit Jerusalem the following week, and had plans to spend time in the garden area by the Lord’s empty tomb on Sunday, 12 June.

He believed the Lord wanted to usher them, with His Bride into a new season – and with a visible display of emotion said he believed the past 40 years had been just preparation for the greater glory that is now coming for the church.

Worship coloured most of the 40th celebration proceedings, with the poignant notes of the song Blessed Assurance filling the room. Many hopeful hands were pressed together, and tender tears were offered to the Lord, as hearts trusted the Lord to do the impossible – which Dr Landman explained he was fully able to do; relating how it was ‘by grace’ he and his wife were standing before the faithful audience of saints that morning. “He has a plan and purpose, not just for me, but for the many whose lives have been touched by his Holy Spirit, through this ministry.”

“I know that where I am weak, He is strong,” he said. As he spoke the words, a beautiful stillness came upon the Upper Room, and the peace of the Lord shone through the windows around the room, which overlook the City of Gold, Johannesburg and its breath-taking skyline.

The Lord Jesus said that a light on a hill should not be hidden and this is what the centre has been for the surrounding community, a light on a hill – not just a Secret Place for Christians to meet personally with the Holy Spirit in quiet and solitude, but a meeting place for children of the Most High God to gather in unity for Kingdom purposes.

“I thank God that I am alive at this hour,” said Dr Landman. “It is a Kairos moment for the children of God.”
